OK...so I just went out into the driveway to play with the Acuralink function after @Madd Dog post. I unpaired my phone and then repaired it. Then reconnected to Acuralink and all is updating just fine now. Why can't Acura just tell you to do that???

I have done that twice and mine is still not working. I guess I must be sitting in the car wrong, maybe I will try the back seat.

Did you run the car?

Someone pointed out that the link updates when the car is turned off.

So it turns out the part I was missing was allowing the car to share data. When I did that last night, the numbers started updating.

Thanks MADD Dog for the tip on that part. I knew I was misssing/forgetting something.

I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas.

So it seems the update may not worth the actuall effort to update unless you are having issues. I will update later after all others have worked through the issues.I tend to delay on updates and I want to see what issues occur.

The current update is the only release that will happen until after the holidays are over as Acura completely shuts down during this time. I would recommend not installing 1.07 if you use USB at all.

Still issues after update

Im still having problems with CarPlay after the recent update. Songs will stutter occasionally, iPhone will disconnect and reconnect occasionally. Also my right screen always defaults to the Acura map on start up no matter what I left it on when I shut the car down. Just curious if anyone else is experiencing these same issues?

What USB issues are you having? I use it more than any other audio source and haven't experienced any issues at all - with 1.0.7 or 1.0.4 before it.

For the Car Play issue try letting the infotainment system boot up completely and have your phone unlocked before plugging it in. I find that I don’t have any issues with car play when I do this. As for the small screen always booting up to the nav it’s not a problem, it’s just the way it was programmed to work. Mine does it also.

I really have no issue with the 1.0.4 and the RDX wifi was setup since day 1, so by the time that I decided to update to 1.0.7, at around 12/15, it was already updated at step 5 of 6 and finished the update with no issue.
Issues:
1. When changing channels using the thumb wheel one day, I've got the "car change mode not available" and the screen started dimming and brighten up randomly with navigation working off and on and XM radio slow responding to change channel and adjust volume using the steering wheel controls. Later on, the touch pad was on/off randomly and finally got the Android keyboard failed message. Quick turning off engine, opened the door and restart the engine did not fix this issue, but touring off the card, exited , wait for 20 minutes. and restart solved the issue.
2. When changing XM favorites using the thumb wheel, the dash showed "system unavailable" message and did not change channel. this happened twice already and if I get out of XM and go back to it, it would be working fine.

When these happened, the system had a USB drive connected and the phone is not paired nor connected to the system.

I'm having a similar issue with the apps wheel where it doesn't work much of the time and get the "system unavailable" error. I spoke with Acura yesterday and they recommended doing a hard reset of the system. I haven't taken the time to try that yet. Unfortunately it means losing all settings and having to reset phone, radio/sirius stations etc. I'll let you know if that works.

Happens when I'm using XM. I switch XM to the main screen and choose one of my favs on the bottom area. Wheel works as expected after that.

Since updating with the OTA version 1.0.7, I cannot use SIRI on my iPhone. I tried using SIRI via my handheld device. It starts to answer my question and then immediately stops. I have also tried via the "long press" on the steering wheel button. I receive the tone, but immediately shuts down. I also noted that my iPhone had loaded my calendar, showing all months of 2018 after driving for a while with the phone paired. I never view my calendar in this mode. I am beginning to seriously regret buying this car. I have never owned a car with so many problems.

We have had this happen a few times. Powering the stereo off and on with the power button on the left side of the steering wheel has resolved the issue.

Should have tried this first, but was lazy...
Anyway, I just reset to factory default and I also will report back if this makes a difference.

So, it happened again after the factory reset. This time, it was about three minutes after I started the engine and driving, the steering wheel's volume adjuster (up/down), with navigation on the big screen and XM on the right, the volume adjuster stopped responding, but I was able to change favorites with the thumb wheel. I was also able to adjust the volume using the knob on the dash. When this happened, I noticed the arrow, which indicates the current location, on navigation was flashing and rotating, but it was not on the street that I was driving (it was about half inch to the right). I then tried to turn off the audio from the steering wheel's on/off button, the screen showed option to turn off and I tried to use the up/down button on steering to select it, but that did not work. Then, I pressed the audio on/off button again on the steering wheel and everything was working again.
Keep in mind that I had no issue like this with 1.0.4. The strange issues that I am experiencing seem to be related to navigation not getting the signal or acting strange.

Still...knock on wood, we have yet to experience any failures with our head unit as several of you have posted above. What we do experience is that loading time for the updated version does take longer than the previous version and the spinning loading wheel appears for a far greater time than in the past.

Oh good gravy - they're just making that up.

I finally had enough of my RDX and went back to a simpler Ridgeline. I never had any problems like this with my last Ridgeline. Shame on me for trading it in! That was an expensive mistake. What was I thinking to believe that Acura would be better assembled and have fewer software issues?

Yep. Just making it up.

But holy crap. Did you trade in the RDX for another Ridgeline? You change cars more often than I change my underwear!

Having said that, good luck with your new ride.

I know it only has been a day, but it appears that the issue only happens when setting the Navigation on the big screen and XM on the right. Again, powering off/on the radio fixes the issue.
To me, this is a small bug and will report to the dealer at the first service.

@subin ...don't report it to your dealer as nothing will ever happen. Call Acura and create a case so that it, hopefully, gets to the right place where they will take it seriously and look into it.

You mean it sucks that you don't get to trade one set of bugs for a slightly different set of bugs? I'm hoping for an update to the update.

But in the meantime, I'm just driving the thing.

Agreed! I like the way the RDX handles, looks & many of its features but Honda/Acura really missed the mark for its new info system. The bugs, glitches & quirks has left me with a bad taste in my mouth to buy another Acura. This is my 3rd Acura & 2nd RDX. If they don't make the thing work correctly by early 2019 they've lost me. If they don't add in the features that inexpensive off the shelf GPS's have I'm sure they will loose many others as well. GREAT CAR BUT HORRIBLE INFO SYSTEM !!

All very true. I've already written Acura to complain about the poor Nav system, but are there any rumors that they actually plan on modifying the nav to include features and user friendliness normally found on an inexpensive portable gps? Not that I've heard.

For those waiting on 1.0.7 I wouldn’t really recommend you install it. I didn’t have any noteworthy issues with 1.0.4, but since updating it has broken Siri, my iPhone app is pretty unreliable, and I had my first system freeze (where it refused to shut off). I spoke with Acura support yesterday and they acknowledged they have heard a number of Siri complaints and were looking into app issues for me. Hold tight - they seem to be trying to fix things, they are just slow.

Several weeks ago I updated from 1.04 to 1.07 as many other did. Now I have a message in my Acuralink App. It is dated 1/1/2019 and it says System Update 18503.1 (A1806432). New Version D.1.0.7. When I first saw this I was hoping it was a further update to at least fix the broken steering wheel Siri connection. But nobody else has mentioned it so I have a feeling it is just old news about the update I installed in early December. Did anyone else get this notice on there Acuralink App? Is is new or just a repeat?

I have gotten the same message in the app, just had not said anything.

Tried to run system update and it says nothing is available.

But nobody else has mentioned it so I have a feeling it is just old news about the update I installed in early December. Did anyone else get this notice on there Acuralink App? Is is new or just a repeat?
Yes, I have got the same message, but I already have 107.
I have setup the RDX wifi to connect to my home internet, so by the time I went to the system update on the infotainment, it was already in the process of update at step-5 out of 6.
