US automobile fatalities per 100,000 population in the 1960s was about 25. In the last few years it’s been about 11. That’s ~18,000 lives saved each year by those pesky new technologies. Also, whenever I look at the VW picture I can’t think about anything but that apostrophe in “No Airbag’s”.
I noticed that also. It seems that we have not got the update at all. I can only suspect that any update to a Motor Vehicle requires some form of Government Approval which has not been obtained in Canada yet?
Oh gawd..... rumour has it that Honda Canada hired a former employee of Canada's Public Works / Dept of Defense Procurement division to manage this "Block 19" electronics upgrade package. I guess we'll see the update in 10 to 15 years.

That’s super-discouraging. I am getting really tired of how buggy and slow the infotainment system is that it’s taking away from the enjoyment of an otherwise amazing car. My CarPlay has failed to connect for three weeks straight now and I’m always encountering some kind of error when using the Nav system. I actually miss the nav system from my 07 RDX (which had the turn wheel and very responsive interface).

Now we are posting rumors??? Let's try to stick to the facts and not get folks blood pressure up on more rumors that are, most likely inaccurate. A public works employee fixing a head unit software issue for a company like Honda??? Seriously??? Sounds like a bunch of crap right out of the gate!

There was a wee bit of sarcasm in the above post. Relax.
Apparently what it doesn't have is functional zoom in the Nav display , or Android Auto.
But Siri might be better behaved.
i don’t know what you mean by “functional” zoom, but there are zoom buttons on the factory navigation system that work just fine. There is no Android Auto icon on the home screen however.
whoops wrong picture. Here is the nav with zoom buttons.
Yes, we can zoom in the explore mode, however the map stays fixed and only the current vehicle position moves. The current vehicle position will eventually move out of view depending on the scale you set. It's not a conventional zoom and Acura is aware that this is an issue and is in the process of making a software fix based on my conversation with customer support. Also, that mode doesn't work in conjunction with route guidance.

I'm not holding my breath for this one. I have never received reliable information from Client Relations. I've been waiting for a call back for 3 weeks.

I received my call back 4 1/2 weeks from my letter/email/phone call. So with any luck you should receive an unreliable response in a week or two!!

my system does not work this way. The pic I posted earlier is not of explore mode, to enter explore mode you have to press that button and it looks like the pic I’ve attached here. If you don’t press the explore button, you can use the zoom buttons and it keeps your location centered and followed.
So once you activate zoom by touching the screen, it stays active, or the soft buttons soon disappear and reappear when you touch it again?
Maybe we will get this in time for Valentine's day?
Correct. Someone on another thread mentioned that it was about 2.5 months from factory build (my car was built in Dec 2018) to the update being released for everyone else.
I purchased the 2019 RDX January 16th I noticed today I’m on software version D.1.1.2. Is anyone else on this version and did it eliminate any of the informant display freezes and any other issues?

You will have to let us know as there aren’t many on the version yours is on
From your picture it does look like 1.1.2 has zooming. Looking forward to this update and wondering what else was fixed.
I’m wondering how I have this version but the majority does not. Or doesn’t even show an available update. Is it possible the dealer could update via USB?

Running change in production. You're ahead of the game; most of us have previous versions. "Salty" has D.1.1.2.

I've had my car for 3 weeks now, and I'm also D.1.1.2. I've had one freeze, on a 2.5 hour drive where I was playing with the entertainment system settings for the entire trip (i can be very particular). This was easily remedied by "rebooting" my system (while driving, by the way) by using the method mentioned in this video:
I just took delivery of new Advance on 2/1, arrived on the truck 1/31. The D.1.1.2 version is installed, and the zoom in/out buttons are present and work as expected without going into 'explore' mode. Drove 730 miles home(!) from dealer, had no issues with Nav system (except she is obsessed with merging onto the Interstate at on-ramps, repeats 3 or 4 times). Did not use Car Play. Voice recognition works very well by my testing, could add waypoints along the route with ease, finds the next rest area on I-90 (hurray!) easily,
Wondering if there has been a hardware update introduced at the factory, or a firmware change. Otherwise, why the delay in rolling out the new version to existing users given the number of apparent issues?

There are lots of other modules in the vehicle that may or may not be at the firmware revision level of current production. They have to coexist peacefully. Bricking a car is bad.

No way that I can find to attach a name to a destination if you search by address. If you search for a place by name (by voice recognition, e.g. "Taco Johns, Sheridan, Wyoming"), then it will assign the place name to the destination and show the street address it found, but if you have to search by street address, then I don't find a way to attach a name. Not very handy.
The zoom buttons do work well, however, in both normal navigate mode and in explore mode. You can vary the zoom level from 50 ft to 3000 miles (I really don't see the value in that), but every time you restart the car, it defaults back to 500 ft. Wish it would stay where it was when you last turned off the car.
Will prob bu USA only lol. Us Canucks will be SOL just like with most TSBs.
Does anyone know if it is possible to update outside usa
I am in Mexico and still in version D.1.0.4
Ive tried wireless and usb update and the system says "No update available"
Thanks!
It is VIN specific and if you don't have a US based VIN, I do not believe there is any workaround. It gets pushed out from Acura and not something that you can request.

I wonder what their reasoning would be to only release to USA folks for now, is it because we complain the most or are we the official beta testers 😂
Beats me, an argument could be made that you are the largest market, they sold 159,000 cars last year in USA vs 2,200 in Mexico, they just want to keep you happy, altough OTA updates have literally no marginal cost, so they could just push it worldwide.
