I would like to know the breakdown of the RDX models. Based on this forum it seems as though the Advance and ASpec are the top models for the RDX. Just curious.

@wargor...have you visited Acura's website? It's all there my friend

The Advance is the Top Model and the A-Spec is positioned right below it.

I think @wargor wants to know the sales distribution of the 2019 RDX trim levels ( "packages" in Acuraspeak )

But I've never seen that breakdown, from any car manufacturer.

Given that this is an enthusiast forum, I would guess it's not a representative sampling.

That's exactly what I was looking for. I was just curious if it was available. Thanks

It would be interesting to see the breakdown of each trim package as % of overall sales I'd also like to see it for lease vs. buy.

I was told by at least one salesman, they sell mostly Standard and Tech packages because 80% of their sales are leases. Hardly anyone leases an ASpec or Advance because of the higher payments. I don't know about other US regions or Canada. I would think the lease vs. own ratio is not as high in most other places. Kind of a cultural thing. Most of the people I know personally, young and old, lease their cars.

Montréal is definitely an area where I see a lot of A-Spec. I would say it’s the most sold RDX.

I have been seeing several rdxs in the Vancouver region with the majority being ASPECs.

I estimate 2Tech : 5Aspec : 1 Elite: 1PlatinumElite/Advance

If I estimate:
50 A SPECs
5 PlatinumElite/Advance
15 Tech/Base
Total 70

It helps to get additional features on the aspec compared to the us model. Power folding mirrors, spare tire, heated steering wheel, mudguards, etc.

To correct my post above, that was the trim package ratio. I've probably seen at least 20 aspecs on the road.

I'm sure Acura has very granular data on the sales and regional demand of each trim and color.

But where they ever got the idea that Americans don't want power folding mirrors is beyond me.

Lol! Acura sells well in Canada.

If you look closely at the sales numbers, Acura and Lexus aren’t far away, unlike the USA.
Infiniti is way below both brands.

Don’t these people know how pissed some posters are about stuff? I still have a hard time dealing with the absence of folding mirrors.

Don't know if I would call that strong; it barely out-sold the MDX that's going on 6 model years now. The CRV didn't see such a precipitous drop MoM and it's outselling it's bigger brother 3:1.

Rdx has barely any incentives but MDX is at the end of its generation, lots of incentives.

For RDX, we have $1,500 rebate and for MDX up to $8,000.

Last June included a ton of incentives to clear out the 2018 RDX and probably included people rushing out to buy the 2018 RDX and still get the V6 engine. Not really a one to one comparison.

Excellent observation! I agree. June and July were probably high due to 2018 model.

ILX is catching up to the TLX. Looks like only the RLX is keeping Acura viable....

ILX is an excellent for people who don’t care too much about new tech and turbo.

I am very impressed by Acura to be able to sell a 5-6 year old model with no new tech and AWD at this rate. This shows people still believe in Acura

They are only selling about a thousand ILXs, I wouldn't call it much of an accomplishment. The front end looks nice and they are only asking ~$25k for it so I would hope they could do much better. You can end up spending that much on the Civic. Maybe they need to do a better job of letting people know just how cheap you can get one for? I thought that was the purpose of the ILX, get younger people in the door and either upsell them now or later.

I'm more surprised that they're still able to sell a car that's riding on essentially the same platform as a car that came out 14 years ago. Who do they think they are, Toyota or Dodge?

Most of the people I know, buy their cars. One tried it once, is too frugal, and never tried it again. One leases his Mercedes because he likes late model German cars and he doesn’t care about the cost. The last one cannot afford to buy what she leases, so she leases it so strangers think she is more wealthy than she is.

My friends with the most money buy. One guy is a hedge fund guy, and he says that he buys what he wants to drive, and sells when he doesn’t want to drive it anymore, and doesn’t want to keep up with lease rules.
