Navigation display night mode

My RDX would not switch to night mode in Navigation map display at night, but it would switch to night mode when I drive under a bridge or in a tunnel during daytime, anyone has similar issue? Of cause the display mode is set to auto in my car. Thx!

If you have the main brightness (under the gauge cluster) control at maximum, it will stay in day mode instead of switching to night.
Lower it one notch.

I've noticed that one step down is a lot dimmer than max. My TLX was just the same. You get used to it.

does anyone else notice that when in night mode it almost looks like the top "sky" (above horizon) section of the screen looks like its just off? Meaning, daytime mode there're is a slight bluish hue to it that looks like sky, but for night mode, I understand they are probably just trying to convey a dark nighttime sky, but instead it just looks like we are losing screen real estate...sort of like a letterboxed movie? Or am I just to particular about this stuff?

Mine switches readily, even going under an overpass or on a cloudy day. I just don't care for the subdued color scheme. I would prefer a brighter, higher contrast scheme like you see on most GPSs and traditional maps. Hopefully, alternative schemes will be available in future updates.

Agree. The whole infotainment setup----nav--radio--etc. is a little dry in color/graphics. My neighbors 2019 MB is far more colorful and just overall better set up. Even my old Garmin stand-alone looks better.

After reading this thread, I also noticed my 2019 Acura RDX would not switch to night mode in Navigation map display at night. I lowered the main brightness one step as recommended and we are back in service. Thanks for this simple fix.
