Help....9.7-10.1 MPG at city driving.....
I've been driving this car for 2 months and gotten 9.7-10.1 MPG in NYC... I'm not an aggressive driver. Is there something wrong with my car or my driving techniques ...

NYC does not qualify as a place for driving. It's just constant sitting in traffic. To get decent mileage in NYC, you need a hybrid.

True story, I was sitting on the FDR one very hot and humid day in heavy traffic, and wouldn't you know it, the driver in the silent hybrid next to me looked nice and cool and dry, even thought the engine wasn't running. After being stopped for maybe ten minute, the car suddenly started its engine and ran it for maybe five minutes at a very unsilent RPM (I'm guessing an easy 3,000 RPMs) to recharge the batteries.

Null and proud of it
If your average speed is under 5 MPH, you'll get horrible MPG, it's not you, or the car, it's just that you're not covering enough distance in X amount if time while the engine is running, killing your MPG.

I live 126 miles from my daughter's house in Queens. If I fill up before leaving, I will show 27 mpg average after the first 110 miles to the GWB. By the time I travel the remaining 16 miles over the Cross Bronx Expressway and the Cross Island Parkway, I'll easily be down to around 20 mpg. So single digits in the city is for real.

Got to have more data than that OP.
1. How far did you travel?
2. What's the avg speed?
3. Local streets with stop lights? or idling in LIE/BQE?
I also live in NYC, my old truck doesn't get that low in NYC (avg about 13-14mpg) but i'm not driving in Mahattan, usually out in LIE and BQE.

I commute from Queens to Lower Manhattan for work almost everyday, I rely on the LIE and BQE usually during rush hour times as well. I strictly use 93 octane from BP. I have the Advanced AWD with the spare tire (extra weight). My trunk stays empty for the most part and I commute by myself. I get around 15 mpg in 95% comfort mode. You can check your tire pressures to make sure they are correctly inflated. I drove the car out of state for a long road trip and I got around 25 mpg with ACC at around 75 mph. I try to use auto start stop as efficiently as possible, meaning I'll engage it if I know Ill be stopped for more than 7 seconds. (
). I also coast as much as possible. Trying not to tailgate the others ahead of me, its hard to do in NYC since any gap you leave, a taxi will ram their way in but I just learn to relax and understand no one is going anywhere fast anytime soon any way and one car length doesn't make a difference. My old 2005 TL got the same mpg as well doing the same route.

I am in a Northern suburb. This past tank was all short trips, and it was cold out, and I averaged 15 mpg, with no traffic, but stop and go. In my normal mix, which includes some highway and some longer drives on 2 lane blacktop, I get 21-22. I have gotten 25 at the highest. I will be driving to FL later this week, which will be the first highway test of more than, say 25 miles.

Skeptic
There's city driving and there's city driving. The city mileage listed on the sticker is a controlled standard for comparison from vehicle to vehicle. It has no other real value. YMMV

For those who are interested here's a link to how the mileage tests are run:

And another to the specific tests themselves (on these click on the tabs across the top for details of each test type):

This is where BMW had a better implementation in my 2015 328i. For a given trip computer, it would provide all 3 parameters -- distance, avg speed, mpg.
That would make it much easier to explain poor mpg.
This pic is for an X3, but it shows the kind of info BMW provides.

How the heck do people get 20+ mpg.
I'm at 16.5 mpg mostly city driving. Gas mileage does blow but I'm driving an SUV so I knew what I was getting myself into.

Yeah, the mpg is about average for an SUV of this class (BMW is at the top end). If doing a lot of city driving, a plug in hybrid would be a much better choice. Unfortunately Acura doesn't have one and there's doesn't even appear to be one that is even rumored to be in the works. While many car makers like BMW, MB, Volvo, Lexus, etc. are all talking about electrifying their lineups, Acura is surprisingly silent. Hey at least gas prices will remain muted as more and more hybrid/electrics reduce the demand for gas.

I'm around 16-17mpg with mostly city driving as well. That's both good and bad as my 2007 TSX also gets around that much in the city (it's rated for 20/28mpg while the RDX A-Spec is rated at 21/26mpg). So I get 67 more hp, a bucket load more torque and a lot more room and performance for the same mileage. The best mileage I've seen so far has been around 23-24mpg in casual cruising (~50mph).

I am getting 14.0 in Queens also. Queens streets and Grand central parkway. Very light traffic. I took the car to GA doing 65 to 75 and got 28 with ac on.
NYC Gas mileage this car is the pits. I know my old 6 legend L got better and yes they should have put a eco button on it. Who need all that HP / Torque from red light to red light.
If I do / did I would just push Sport mode. Acura to me has lost it.
Quality is not the same as the 90's. Company is advertising Drive / Drive on empty street. Reality check most of the people that can but this car in that price range are in the Cities.
Who the hell would drive like a lunatic in a SUV? I would just buy a PMC instead to do that. It's better at handling since its way lower to the ground.

LOL, in mid-March this year I was able to drive the 25 or so miles from the GWB to the Connecticut state line in right bang on 25 minutes, in the early afternoon no less. Amazing what a little COVID-19 will do for traffic.
