Gen 3 RDX Hybrid?
First post here , IMHO the gen 3 RDX is definitely a home run for its class, I am wondering if we would ever see a Hybrid powertrain in the near future. I know MDX has one, but it's on a totally different platform and intentions.
Something can return you with 30+ MPG would definitely be tempting for many German Compact SUV crowds.

I believe eventually a hybrid powertrain will come out but nothing confirmed from Acura. I remember during obama administration that passed a MPG compliance of 50+ for auto fleet by 2025. That was eased up to somewhere around 35 mpg now. The point is the direction of fuel efficiency requirements and lower global greenhouse gas emissions is going to require some hybrid version.
Lexus is coming out with UX hybrid sometime in 2018. Acura would soon follow I bet

Seems like it wouldn't take much to add the MDX sh-sh-awd hybrid system to the 2.0T +19 RDX? I figured the 2.0T+10AT might improve on mpgs by 1-3 compared to the 2nd Gen V-6+6AT before seeing the specs. The 3rd Gen is still better compared to the 1st Gen RDX at 18-22 mph city/hwy average. I don't think Acura would do a sh-sh-awd 3rd Gen RDX until the MMC in 2022. Between, fwd/sh-awd, base, tech, A-Spec, Adv, sh-sh-awd hybrid, and maybe Type-S performance are a lot of potential RDX models and Acura doesn't do well with giving a lot of choices to consumers.
