Auto Idle Stop - Permanently Disabled!
I've only noticed now but my "Auto Idle Stop" seems to have been permanently disabled (i.e. the engine no longer shuts off when I'm at a full-stop)...and for a couple of weeks now. Did Acura update the software recently? Or was there a sequence of buttons I accidentally pressed?
Either way, I'm not complaining, I always found the feature very annoying to shut-off on every drive.

It's because of the temperature

Mine hasn't stopped itself at idle since August. I know it's getting colder but we've had several days since then with ambient temps in the 15-20 degree range. This feature is pretty much pointless if it's only going to work three months out of the year.

Nope, I've been using Comfort or Sport this whole time. Sounds like it could be the drop in temperature that everyone's mentioned. It's been between -4 to 8 degrees Celcius in Toronto the last few weeks.

Ambient temp will only disable S/S if it's below -4F (-20C). Coolant temperature being low is another reason as well as the climate control settings (defrost on). Pages 430 & 431 of the OM list all the conditions that will disable it.

I've tried everything on that list that I can control to make the auto idle stop activate and it's not having any of it.

It is 32F/0C here and the auto stop/start works exactly as when it was warm.
I don’t understand why people think it doesn’t function in cold weather.
Granted, the engine takes longer to warm up but, once it does, everything should work normally.
I disable it most of the time because I just don’t like it.

Same here. After the car warms up, and I forget to turn it off, just like a bad penny, it comes back, and then I turn it off.

Mine continues to not work with no symptoms whatsoever (well, except for the whole not working thing). Enabling and disabling with the dash switch yields the proper messages and indicators, it just never shuts the engine down.

Mine hasn't worked in weeks but the ambient temperatures have been above -20C for the most part. Perhaps the system is running the a/c as a means of dehumidifying the interior, thus satisfying the "climate control in use" criteria. I had other vehicles that ran the a/c quite often in winter even when the controls were not set to command this.
