Technical ? re: 04 TL.....?

So, my GF is driving her TL Sat.... AC blowing ice cold... then NOT..... So I take her my truck, take her car to Oreilly to buy some of the Freon in a bottle.... Will not go in as compressor not coming on.... battery checked, its low, Alt checked and its about gone... So I purchase both... as well as a new cabin filter.. () Get all of those changed in my driveway and compressor still does not come on.... AC comes on and blows hot air... Was TOLD that when the alt begins to go that it wreaks havoc on the computer.... I now have a CEL dealing with tq converter, trans stuff and had to reset radio.... Car drives, runs fine. Taking it this morning hoping to hook up evap AC stuff to see if they can diagnose prob.....

I really hope that the compressor isnt' toast.... It is not grinding or making noises... Your thoughts? Experiences?

I suspect the ac clutch and stator coil. Happened with my car as well as a few others that I've seen

I would have tested to see if there was any power going to the compressor at all. If not than start back tracking. If so most likely compressor needs replacing.

You can get a denso compressor which is oem for $200ish from amazon.

I replaced my girlfriends mom compressor recently on their 06 v6 accord sedan.

ding ding ding..... We have a winner...

That is exactly what it was... In terms of the CEL.... most of the items were history... The only current repeating ones were the upstream 02 sensors... Replaced the easy one up front... Now I am dicking with the rear one... The connector is the MOFO....

Thanks for the feedback

ok cool. it one thing I see over looked. yea if you have power then it needs a clutch and coil. I would replace the whole compressor and the shock inside the condenser.

I'm just wondering what's the "shock inside the condenser"?

I never heard of it. Is that another term for the drier or is it completely unrelated?
