lmfao i wish i was a genius... my grades are crap but yeah... i got the basic shape of it and luckily i had a picture on my phone which i used for the lower grille and details towards the center area
funny how you guys talking about drops... my bro's tl scrapes our driveway stock height, but thats only if we exit really strait... then again.. no one in their right mind would do that anyways... haha
and i might go outside right about now just to screw around with flashes lol ill post some pics of what i get in a bit~

lol best one would be an sb-900 but thats around $450 cheaper alternative would be the new sb-700 which is pretty decent but if you wanna get even cheaper but more output than the 700 then a used sb-800 would be alright
did he have multiple flashes or did he run around with one? haha and yeah long exposure basically means your leaving the shutter open for a longer exposure which lets in return lets in more light to hit the sensor lol not gonna ge too technical about it or i could type up a wall of words lmfao

you don't need an expensive flash. the one my friend was using was maybe $100

one flash. he rigged it up to some big battery and i or him would run around the car and flash it at certain points. then we would clean up the hot spots and shadows in photo shop.

ya he has one of those flashes. i think it is a older model of the one you posted. very effective.
next time try goin somewhere pretty much pitch black dark. because you have to open up the exposure for the type of shot you are trying to get. any extra light is going to be too much, like that spotlight at the top. the last pic looks pretty decent for your first attempt
