I fixed the glitch
Anyone with a 3G TL and 5A on here that has changed the 3rd and 4th gear pressure switches? I'm gonna do it this weekend but I'm kind of timid as I really hate messing with electronics.

I'll probably be at my parents house changing them out. I'm house sitting this weekend. They live out in Katy so I dunno if you wanna drive all the way there for a quick job. Have you done it before? It looks straight forward.

GRRRRR.... STERLING MCCALL GAVE ME NO DISCOUNT ON PARTS.
$117 for the 2 sensors, gaskets and reservoir and elbow. They didn't have the endlinks in stock. I hope John Eagle has them.

Well the good news is, I found my previous receipts and I did a 3x1 on the trans was last oil change so I don't need to buy the fluid again. Saves me $40 and A LOT OF TIME.
I might hold off on the suspension too and just see if tightening the bolts will help for now. I know they will get worse again but it's worth a shot. That way I can order them from a vendor online.

Justin, I saw your text after dinner. Sorry. I drove out to Katy to have dinner with my girlfriend and her family. I stopped by my parents house to check the fluid levels. It was just above the bottom line so I topped it off... but that STUPID ATF fill bolt is a PITA to put back in when it's dark and you're tired.
By the time we were done, it was around 10:30. She shifts better today. The sensors are just preventive at this point.

40wt might be a bit thick. I use 0w-30 or 5w30 Synthetic. 20wts scare me. Granted, I'm use to dumping 6 quarts of Shell Rotella T 15w40 into the Jeep.

any of the mobile1 0 weights are true synthetics...
I tried the 0w-20 but I felt it was to thin, also I beat on my car and go for short trips. the 0w-20 had a HTHS rating of 3.6% i believe.
my oil life said 40% last night, but the oil was black. Changed it to the 0w-40 as some one recommended it on AZ

Why thank you. I actually thing the TL ran the smoothest on Motorcraft 5w20. It's made by ConocoPhilips and is a syn-blend. But... I don't really like 20wts.
I've used:
Syntec 5w20 (underrated)
Edge 5w30
Mobil 1 0w30 AFE (Currently in the sump)
I might stick with the 0w30 for the quick flow on start up but I heard Quaker State has a new syn out and Wallyworld has it for $19/jug. It meets the new SN rating.

a true synthetic oil.
Basically when temperatures are HIGH, the oil sheers or breaks down. you want to look for an oil with a High Temperature High Sheer rating of 3.6% or better.
although 0w-40 might be a little thick for Houston's heat. We'll see as I'm the guinea pig.
