^the fuck? Never? They've already said it's coming in the next version and every review I've seen says it doesn't need dual core cause the OS runs so smoothly. The current version don't have it now because the increase in power wasn't worth the battery drain that came with it. When the next gen dual cores come out that are more efficient then they'll have them.

^ I have a coworker who does development for it and he stated that there is no reason to put a dual core in there as the OS is not designed for it and at this point they are not going to go that route....maybe with wp 8, but who knows as that is some time off in the future...

They didn't design for it because the cons outweighed the pros. When it doesn't they will. They are in charge of hardware and software specs like Apple while allowing a variety of form factors like Google. They aren't going to code for something they know they aren't going to implement for another year....

You'll only need a dual core if it's running on a shitty OS that can run well without it, that's not the case for Windows Phone so it doesn't have it.
