Wireless mouse question....

I have a wireless mouse that I messed up the piece that connects to my laptop. I have a spare from a different wireless mouse. Would it be possible to program the other one to work with my current mouse.

I plugged in the other peice to the laptop but it does not recognize the mouse...

Logitech's new models have a universal USB connector that alleviates this problem. No help to you in this situation, though.
