WiFi Site Survey Programs

Hello,

I am in the midst of a project regarding Cisco APs, VOIP wireless phones, coverage, etc. The building is quite large and we are unsure of our coverage.

Does anyone have suggestions on which Site Survey Software to purchase?

Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.
-Kevin

I used net stumbler since I only had to do it once. Since you are going to use multiple Cisco APs I suggest you get a Wireless LAN controller even though they are incredibly over priced. It will make your life much easier.

Doopstr,
Thank you for the reply.

Unfortunately, I already tried to convince the big cheese but he did not budget anywhere close to it. So the best I get is to expense a site survey software and I will manually have to figure out the best outputs and channels.

Net Stumbler good?

It's fine for a basic site survey. It will show you the signal strengths.

Can't you pair NS with a gps device and get a geo map of signal strength, too? I remember seeing wardriving results of entire neighborhoods like that...
