Wi-Fi Calling

Is anyone using this? T-Mobile's Hot Spot @ home for instance. I understand that you don't need the actual service, just a wi-fi phone and the calls come from your bucket minutes. This would be great as I spend a lot of time in no coverage areas. (but they do have hi speed net) So anyone with experience would be great to hear from. Plus, I wanna buy this bad boy...

I don't have the @home plan but have a wi-fi/UMA capable phone and it just takes it from your minutes. You can set it up (well, depending on what phone you ahve maybe) to "prefer" either UMA or regular...but it will pick out the strongest one. I have it set to prefer the regular signal, but it'll jump to UMA if I'm in a low signal area that has strong wi-fi.

If I used over 1000 minutes a month, I would get the service, but I barely use 500, including night and weekends, so why bother?

It is a great service if you have a UMA phone. It picks up WiFi networks when your cell signal is weak. The call quality is good. I definitely recommend it if you have coverage issues in your home. The Blackberry Curve and Pearl seems to be the best to transfer from cell network to WiFi.
