ATT - I've only been on for a week, but the service seems very good. No dropped calls, good people at the support center, etc.
Nokia 6820 - Easy BT setup. Only the phone icon and tower icon (signal indicator) show up. Cool little phone.

1. Dallas, TX (though the phone will get used nationwide on a semi-regular basis...I've only had this phone for a couple weeks so can only speak for local service/signal)
2. AT&T (6 years and counting...)
3. Sony T637: all info shows on MID, signal strength tends to range from 3-5 bars, but does get knocked down lower in garages, etc.)

1) San Francisco Bay Area, CA
2) Sprint
3) SE T608 - Displays signal strength and Batt on MID, along with CallerID. Works well, but this phone has very limited features and Batt life sucks. I use Treo 600 for out of car phone.

Verizon
SE T608
Everything displays in the MID. Only problem is that about 50% of the time, when I pick up an incoming call, it gets dropped. By "dropped" I mean, the caller can be heard in the handset, but not through the car's speakers. I have to yell "transfer" 3 times to get the caller back through the speakers. Slightly frustrating!
I am considering the 'vox SMT 5600 from AT&T, but am hesitating because I am very pleased with Verizon's coverage.

1) Santa Clarita, CA but drive all over LA - reception is all over the map
2) Cingular (since it was AirTouch) must be 9 years now?
3) Currently I'm using a Sony Ericsson T616. Battery level, signal strength and phone number all show up in the MID.
Firmware version is R1A054 and something about 'MARTHA' (is there a newer one?)

1) Paris, Texas I drive frequently to Dallas and find a black hole between Honey Grove and Bonham.
2) Sprint PCS. Get good reception in general, but there are a few spots around Paris where I regularly get dropped. There are supposed to be some new towers installed around here that should help this problem.
3) SonyEricsson T-608 Battery level, signal level and caller ID show up in MID.
Firmware: R1E

Overall I like it a lot. Have been able to dial and receive calls with ease. I've only had my TL for a day though

Audiovox 5600 Mobile PC
I just returned my second phone to sprint after being frustrated that I could not get my previous audiovox pocket pc phone with slide out keyboard to work with the car. I could receive calls but anytime I would try and make a call it would say service not avaialable. I drove around in strong signal areas and the same result. I sent it back.
I then switched to ATT/ Cingular and asked the sales guy to come out to my car and test an audiovox 5600 windows mobile addition. He said it just came in and the phone is very cool and links with the TL. The cars display shows caller ID but no signal strength or battery. I will sacrafice that because the phone is very cool. It syncs with outlook address, to do and email features and can run windows mobile apps like windows media player 10, etc. It is a little smaller than a snickers bar and comes with a very nice case. I paid about 239 dollars for it.
1) Does anybody know if their is a way to get the battery and display to work?
2) What exactly is the correct version of bluetooth does the TL come with. I have a 2004 and I have been told their are different versions of bluetooth which is what drives the compatibility. (This is what acura "Hands free link" expert told me).

I shoot people
I live in South Orange County, California... Dana Point to be exact, just South of Laguna Beach.
I have two cell. phones:
Verizon- Samsung i700 PDA phone -good reception
Sprint PCS- Sanyo 8200-good reception
They both have pretty decent receptions.... yeah, there'll always be those "spots" or "pockets" where you lose signal... but that's just the way it is.
I think, though... perhaps getting a little out dated (?), the Sanyo 8200 is one of the most user friendly phones... I've ever owned. The Samsung i700 on the other hand... is a little disappointing... don't get me wrong... I don't know what I'd do without it... but I just expected more from a handheld computer. (like for example... with the Sanyo 8200, you can go into the call logs and save an "unsaved" number just by pressing a few buttons... but with the Samsung PDA phone... you can't even do that... you have to go into "contacts" and save the number starting from scracth... do the whole... "new contact" thing)
I hate how with Verizon... when checking your voice mail... it ask you "to check your 'unheard' voice mail now... press '1'..." I think that is so redundant... why should it even bother? It's like... "no, I'll just waste my minutes and hear it later..." I also hate how I have to enter my code everytime I check my voice mail... with Sprint... you keep your finger pressed on the "1" button and it takes you straight to your first unheard voice mail... doesn't ask you your damn code or give you a choice.
And another thing... I hate it when you're done leaving a voice mail on someone else's phone... and it ask you... "to send your messege now.... press 1". WHY???!!!! At what point do you really want to send a messege later??!! So redundant... I'm sure there's a purpose for it... but I highly doubt it's a feature people use very often or at all.

1.) 909, CA but work in Los Angeles
2.) Nextel (3 years) and Cingular for TL HFL (almost a year)
3.) Cingular - Siemens S56: Only got this phone/service because stupid Nextel is slow with their phone development. The reception surprisingly is better than my Nextel BUT the volume/clarity is not as clear. It pairs fine with the TL and displays both signal and battery meter.
Nextel - Motorola i730: Wish Nextel came out with a bluetooth phone. That's all I can say about that :'(

3) Currently I have SonyEricsson T608i. In MID, I have all the information that should appear including caller ID. Reception and paring is good. But the phone itself is cumbersome. I already ordered LG PM325. I hope it would arrive within this week. I'll update info after I get the phone.
