Washington D.C. coverage?

For anybody who has experience in the Washington area - what cell phone providers work without much problem there? I just care about the company with the best coverage as I will be spending a few months there without a land line.

I've had T-mobile, Verizon, and Cingular. And aside from Verizon having ocassional coverage inside of the metro, their coverage is all about the same.

BTW, when are you coming out here?

Thanks CG. If you had to choose one again, which one would you choose?

This summer, hopefully. I am working on some of the details, but I hope to be there this summer. Perhaps we can meet up at some point during my stay there.

I typcially prefer Cingular because they provide better phones. But if the phone is not an issue, it would be nice to have coverage in the underground metro tunnels.

Still, I don't see enough of a difference in the sound quality an coverage to justify verizon's higher costs.

Of course, if you already have a phone with any of these carriers, you should be able to use it here without issue.

And yeah, if you're out here, we should definitely meet up.

Once you get north of DC and towards Baltimore Cingular's coverage begins to suck.

I have Verizon and never have coverage issues here.

When I lived in Ellicott City my roomate's Cingular phone wouldn't get a signal in our apartment or anywhere in the area.

strange...

Of course, it could vary from phone to phone too since some phones seem to have better antennas.
