How do I put a shortcut icon on my desktop and not have that arrow thing on the bottom left corner of the icon?

 

Not a Vista answer, but put a copy of the icon as opposed to a shortcut to it.

Edit: a copy of the original file, not a copy of the shortcut to the file

I tried that and it works but there is one problem I can't rename the icon even if I rename the actual file I start running into errors that prevent me from opening the file. Any other ideas? I appreciate the help. On a side note I seem to have lost my recycle bin anyone know how to get that back as well? I might have deleted it when I was mass deleting some icons off my desktop.
