Care to say who has said camera is AWFUL, I read about four hands on with this and only one has said anything about the camera and that was a draw.

well its smart from a business standpoint because they wont have people abusing the upgrades for phones and flippin them on ebay...but then again from $175 to $250 i think it is and now $350? that has to be the highest out of all the wireless providers.

That's not the point, Verizon shouldn't be expected to flip the bill on phones they subsidize. Raising to $350 on specific phones is perfectly fair.

Yeah but not for long...
BTW I went to scope them both out not too long ago. They both seem like great phones, and let me tell you, the Sense UI on the Eris is SLICK. But in the end, I'm not sure if I'm willing to give up my Storm2 for either one. I'm gonna have to

Just played with it a while. It was nice, but not nice enough to get me to switch over. The physical keyboard is terrible. Other wise it's pretty nice. I think I'll wait for HTC to release something.

ended up pickin it up this weekend, so far so good, the physical keyboard does take some getting used to though. but i love not gettin worn out from typin on the storm I. and its fast as hell, and the youtube videos in high quality are ridiculously clear.

I've had AT&T for a good 6-7 years now, and I'll say they coverage is mediocre at best. Fastest 3G network? My ass, it's about as fast as EDGE. Fewest dropped calls? I wonder why I sometimes have to call someone back 3-4x because of spotty service in my 25 minute drive home from work on a certain highway. Overall, AT&T: :thumbsdow
I have to disagree with your speed comparison on EDGE vs. 3G. I live in EDGE territory and it is TERRIBLE, but as I get closer to Jacksonville and 3G comes on, it is way faster!

Got rid of mytouch 3G and picked up the Droid today and I gotta say it's the best decision I've ever done concerning cell phones.
I checked out the Cliq a couple of weeks ago before deciding to move to Verizon and it's not comparable to the droid. My buddy who was with me when i was picking this up is thinking of selling his Iphone (t-mobile) and replacing it with the droid since we have a 17% discount from our employer.

I picked one up on the day it was released. It is by far the best Verizon-network multimedia device that I have ever owned. It has some really great features, like the voice activated search and commands (which work flawlessly), the free Google navigation, and the big display. There are a good amount of apps, and the virtual keyboard in landscape mode is also the best I've ever used.
All that being said, after comparing it with my Ipod Touch, I will say that if Verizon had an Iphone, I would not be a Droid owner right now. It's hard to explain, but the Iphone/Ipod just feels/works better. It's smoother, easier to use, and the controls are more intuitive. And Apple has higher quantity and quality apps.
But, I know first hand how terrible AT&T's service is in the DC area. I carry a work issued AT&T blackberry everyday, and I can't tell you how often calls either get dropped or don't go through at all (even when it is showing maximum 3G signal). The call quality is terrible as well.
The Droid is the closest I'll be able to get to an Iphone with Verizon. Given that it does have some features that the Iphone doesn't, and it is superior in several ways (especially as a PHONE) I think it's an alternative that I can be happy with.

I loaded up Google Nav a few days ago. It works flawlessly and is pretty quick. I haven't played with it much lately, but Im going to poke around in the settings to see if there is a way to change route type. Even if there isn't, Im not complaining as it was free. I like free.

Really? You like it better than the one on your iPod? One of the thing's I've been reading is that both keyboards are pretty bad and the virtual keyboard can't compare to Apples because of the lack of multitouch.
