I think you would have to flex the phone to be able to use AIM. At least that's the case with ATT's v600

You might wanna take a look on howardforums.com and see what are your alternatives.

I did flex my V400 with a V600 soft. but AIM is not configured to work with Cingular. I might need to look on a firmware upgrade

i just ordered a V600.... what does it mean that I have to "flex" it? I have AT&T, I ordered from AT&T...

Flexing means to change the base software which the phone runs on.

Cingular and AT&T have branded software which limits the phone to their network. Plus they want you to buy ringtone and shit.
