v3 razr and cing owners...

Are you happy with the phone? Does it match the hype?

For those of you with cing, how often do you drop calls? Are you happy with your reception, and how does it compare to verizon?

I've had mine for about a month now. I must say that I do like the phone a lot. There is a bunch of things you can do to it, if your willing to flash it. By flashing it you can enable the camera to start recording video instead of just playing them. There are also a bunch of other hacks for it. If you have bluetooth on your computer then transferring ringtones, wallpapers, screensavers, and games is as simple as click and dragging. As for dropped calls I haven't really had any. I use to have Verizon and the service is on par. Oh and I think the price is down to about $150 now. I got mine for free so I have no complaints!

Awsome. basically the impression i was under is that it really wasn't worth 400 but for sub 200 its worth it. I dont have bluetooth on any of my computers but i could always get a bluetooth mouse and then use the base with the phone.

my biggest concern is losing the really great service ive had with verizon.

I've had mine since Nov and I'm on Cingular. I agree with you...it's a great phone and definatly worth the price they are offereing it for now. I havn't done the video recording hack yet though. The reception on the phone is the best I've ever had. I will hang on to calls in bad areas. I have never dropped a call yet. I did have to replace the battery about 3 months ago though. I'm not sure if mine was defective from the start. Other than that....no problems with the phone.

YOu should really talk to people in your area to see how they like the service. Here in So.Cali I haven't really noticed much of a difference between the two. The only difference is the dead spots. When I was with Verizon I pretty much knew what places to avoid. With Cingular i'm still learning but every carrier has thier dead spots. And yes that phone is defintely not worth more than $200. Anything below that is reasonable.

tmobile will be offering the razr on july 11th fyi. so i'm going to assume tmo has better coverage than cingular and go with that provider instead of cingular. my previous experiences with cingular was very sub par.

I actually just placed an order for a new RAZR (in black, of course) for the new job that I will be starting in a few weeks. Will probably have a second one (in Silver) soon as my personal phone since my SE T616 is on the fritz...

You live in California, and Cingular and T-Mobile have roaming agreements there, you will pretty much get similar results on RF with either company, and maybe better with Cingular as there are places where T-Mobile doesnt have a agreement, but your phone will most of the time say Cingular anyways, make sure you have a 850 Band phone though

Since you're in Nashville I take it...Cingular will be your best choice for providers. If you don't go into the hills, I would recommend T-Mobile. They're getting the RAZR in a week. As far as my opinion...the phone is a hyped up V600...not worth it but if you REALLY want it...get on Amazon cause now you can get it for free after you sign up for service.
