Thanks so very much!!!... I looked at the page and it kinda looks like what HTC had originally envisioned for the phone...

So not a Touch Pro 2 but Sprint is replacing my Touch Pro due to the chrome defect. For those that don't know, early models had issues with the chrome bezel around the phone cracking and chipping. Well mine is in the ESN range so I'm getting a new one this weekend.

Anyone wanna buy a brand new Touch Pro for $250?

I got another TP.
And that's info is not true. It's been confirmed by people at Sprint that there are a "significant number of TPs" in the warehouse.

I am holding out hope that its true... I am calling Sprint today or going by a service center today myself... I will report back...

I think its related to the number of small problems they are having with the TP, not the number the have in the warehouse...customer retention becomes a problem when your top of the line business phone is crappin out all the time... I am holding my 4th busted TP rite now (in less than a year)... es loco hommie!

At this point it will depend where u go as far as the model u will recieve. A lot of people will be sent Treo Pro's. Most of the other phones on that screenshot shown will not be in that list nxt wk. Plus if u are in a store they will not let u know all of those are avail, and ask u which would u like,a tech may only mention a few. If u are offered, I would prolly swap it out to a Tour if u want sumthin reliable. Or if u have become eligible for upgrade again, the Android phones are really nice and they already have more apps in the Android Market than what is available in the Pre app store.

Only thing that sux about android phones is the required everything plans. I am on SERO and the HERO won't work with SERO. I don't want a crackberry so that brings me back to the TP2...

Anyone have luck this weekend going from TP to TP2?

Like Woah!!! the Howard Forum discussion about the TP replacements is heating up over there... pretty crazy... some peeps getting TP2's and others getting nothing at all and in the middle, some character messing his phone up on purpose to get a TP2... fraud and fodder...

Yeah they got rid of the huge buttons on the botton and made them tiny. Plus the device is slighly larger too.

Went to a Sprint Service Center at Willowbrook today after work... they fixed my TP with a new keyboard... the young man told me to contact him personally if my phone goes out again and I can pick from a TP2, Snap, a couple BB's and the Treo Pro... he got approval for any of these 5... he read them off his computer screen while I standing there... the peeps at advanced service when I called Sprint were worthless and pretended to know nothing about the TP replacements... he said he could give me another TP... I laughed as I got off the phone.

Oh, BTW... I nosed around the display for a while... the Instinct HD is sweet, and the Android is crazy sick...super fast and very small, and probably the easiest phone just pick up and start using of all the display phones there...... the TP2 was a no-show on the display... the Tour is really a great, very fas unit, but I would miss my touch screen and I don't want to pay an extra 30 clams a month to own a BB...

Sith, dont be fooled though. He's reading off whats on the list but I dont know anywhere locally thats been able to complete an order for a TP2 yet. U should call him everyday to check though b/c we never know when its gonna go through.

I appreciate the good advise Hot Boi!!!!!

... Sprint Style smoke and mirrors... those TP2's are like magic... poof... they are gone...

Phones and the communication biz is just not my thing...

I really want to try another platform to be honest (and avoid the TP2)... even the Palm Pixi looks like it might fit the bill for me... as long as this keyboard works... I will hang loose... the Hero looked sick, but its another HTC and I have a kinda bad taste about them... go figure...LOL The HD looked cool, but kind "stiff"...

Pixi should be good since they have had time to work with WebOS, no release date set. It wont have wi-fi like the PRE though. Samsung Moment is the other new android on the way, 11/1.

I must say that the TP2 is no where near as tough (physically) at my Mogul was. I accidentally dropped my TP2 the other day and it cracked the screen BADLY. Looks like someone hit it with a small hammer in two different places.

My mogul has been dropped plenty of times over the past 2+ years and I didn't have any problems with it.

I am just going to have to learn to be EXTRA EXTRA careful!

^ Great Next! Give us the scoop as soon as you have had some time with your new rig. I scored a Pre about 4 or 5 days ago and I have been super happy with it! ( Other than an efax issue that I think I have solved now )

you should check out ppcgeeks they already have a unlocker and cooked windows 6.5 rom. It has drastically increase the speed and performance of the phone. Im glad cause windows 6.1 was such a problematic os.

From what I read, it seemed like most people were happy with 6.1 since it's more stable than the 6.5 roms. People that flashed their phones wanted the get rid of bloatware and have the nice 6.5 icons. I'm sticking with 6.1 til an official 6.5 rom comes out since it's working well for me right now.

Energy Rom is going on this week as well as a bunch of other tweeks. I'm been on that site ever since I got my TP1. A wealth of knowledge. It's how I got my first TP1 replaced (cracked chrome).

is anyone looking at the ATT's modded touch Pro 2 aka the Tilt 2? I looking to replace my 8528 with it. Tilt 2 has windows 6.5 already on it so I doubt it'll need to have the cooked rom on it, but I'd like the HTC one without all the bloatware.... How do you sprint guys like yours?

I didnt like the sprint rom with all the crap that i never use. Which is why i ended up flashing a cooked rom. But the sprint version comes with 6.1 and i disliked it alot. But with the new cooked rom i happy with the speed especially when i text and open the qwerty keyboard the screen flip from portrait to landscape is alot more faster.

I finally took some time out to flash the stock rom on my TP and relock it. Had sprint replace it with the TP2 for FREE (Actually mine and the wifey's)!

Loaded the MightyROM on it and I'm loving it! Huge screen and it's now a WIRELESS ROUTER!

Combined with the SERO plan, this is the only way to go!

Official 6.5 is "supposed" to be out this Friday for us sprint users. The other carries have had 6.5 on the TP2 for a while now. Let's see if it really happens...
