Sprint SMS

Well, its in full swing now... you can send/receive text messages direct from an app on your phone (if you have a newer phone) rather than using shortmail.

Heres something you may not know that took me a couple days to find out...

DO NOT PUT A "1" in front of the 10 digit number you are sending a message too. You will get a successful confirmation but they WILL NOT receive your message.

Number should be like

518-867-5309

--

AOL IM forwarding DOES NOT work as of yet. If you reply... you will get a successful confirmation.. but the person will not receive your IM.

You have to login to mobile AIM to use AIM on your phone still.

Any word on if this will be fixed?

Other than that tho... its fast... speedy... and reliable if you form your #'s correctly.

I had everyone in my phonebook with the `1` exchange because whenever im out of my home area it forces me to dial a 1. oh well.

this system is 10000000000x better than shortmail.

Hehe, I'll mention this to the text messaging guys but you know what? It's took them so long to even get text messaging right...chances are these fixes are long time coming I guess.

Anyway I'm gonna get T9 to default in the NEXT phone.
