Which Sprint Phone?
Which Sprint Phone?
My shit is on its last leg, first the screen died, now the hinge busted... so I can't flip.
It's served me well for quite awhile though
I've a SCP-5550 / VM-4500.
My only necessities in a new phone is form factor, and a two-way SMS app. (Not Shortmail)
The camera and video camera have been nice, but I could probably live without them.
Ideas?

they won't replace your phone with a refurb... they are supposed to replace it with whatever current model has the same features.
but... the vm4500 is still listed on the sprint site

If insurance doesn't cover it, go to the local Costco, the carry a few Sprint phones there at a fraction of the price at the Sprint store. I picked up a Sanyo 8200 there for $199, came with car charger, holster clip and hands free adapter.
A700=junk. buggy phone. Wait for the next gen sanyo multimedia, mp3 player, camera phone. It even has a SD slot.
Had a A700 for 3 months. Not impressed. I'm using a Treo 650 now, and a Sanyo 4920.

Soopa: Last year, a Sprint phone of mine broke (it was within the one year warranty period). They didn't have that model in stock any longer, so they gave me a credit equaling the price I had originally paid for the phone which could be used towards any new phone. I'm sure they will do the same.
i was at the sprint store yesterday cuz i have the insurance plan (5$) a month cuz my vm-4500 is going down the pooper and i asked if i could warranty my phone and pay the difference for a new phone and he said no
he said that if they allowed it everyone would break their phone and upgrade for free.. sanyo and samsung will make no money.. that would be tterrrriblleeee

Hey man i sell Sprint phones at the SHACK and one phone everyone seems to like is the A680 but what ever you do dont get the new LG 325 Slider doesnt pick up signal for SHIT
like i said, the insurance option dissapeared from my plan.
i have to go through my bills and figure out when it was taken off and why.
i wonder if when i upgrade my plan, my options don't carry along with it? whatever the case... that sucks

because I've little problem with sprint.
coverage in my area is great -- full strength near everywhere.
there isn't much not to like. at least not enough to justify making the switch

I have this phone, its pretty badass....great screen, cool features and if you really want you can get tv with it!
i think my vm4500 is pretty durable...i dropped it thru the balcony from the 2nd floor in my house and it hit the hard tile floor yet it only has a couple of minor scratches and the battery popped out
I love my vm4500.....had it since it came out.....had to replace it a couple months later cus it had issues makin calls...but after that its been a charm....if you have sprint, I always recommend ppl to get sanyo phone cus they have good signal strength
