Should be interesting.. there are alot of challenges ahead for the two companies.. nothing probably will happen until the first half of 2002..

I know many of you have Dell computers.. but HP and Compaq are more into the Enterprise business.. but now, their PC business sould pick up..

 

... = more layoffs!

I work for HP..

so I guess now we are going to be working for the same company..

I think the overlap is going to be in the manufacturing/production side of the house.. just as long as you're not there, you don't have much to worry about.

I'm in the Serivices organization, so I think I'm ok.. Compaq has some good consulting services they picked up when the acquired DEC..

But who knows.. I hope I'm not on the list either..

I'm actually pretty excited about the merger, we have alot of growth potential..

hmm.. wonder what Compaq will name the Area in Downtown SJ now?? HPaq Area??

 

Yea i work on the business critical team.. i deal with the major companies.. ex mci, nasdaq, ucc, aol

so hopefully there is a need for me still
