Samsung i500 can't test message
Hello:
I have Sprint and a Samsung i500 Palm phone. I can receive text. However, I don't know who it's from and I can't reply, let alone compose. Anyone know of any fixes like new software or something? Thanks!

i500 doesn't come with a SMS (text) application checkout the website I'm posting below. b.t.w. the i500 never has had messaging app included from sprint, the phone is also *many* years old now.

I believe the i500 had something called "Short Mail" which is essentially one-way text messaging. That's what came with the phone......
So you can receive a text message but if you want to send a message, you'll need to go into the Web Browser and use Short Mail.
Or you can go 3rd party app.

i500 users were not provisioned for shortmail (if he bought the phone new). Only way he'd have a shortmail account is if he did a phone swap and the previous phone already had a shortmail account created for it...
shortmail is just a web application... and it does allow 2-way text messages you can read and send from the web application. It's just horribly slow and annoying.
the app i showed him is a SMS app for the i500 adding the funtionality he's looking for. I don't think it uses the paging channel like normal SMS apps do though.
