quick I need help with excel!!
I"m at work and I'm not that good with excel and this really basic I know but I can't figure it out.
Ok in field B10 I have a formula "=sum(B3:b9)" that works fine but I want to take that result and divide it by the number in field B12 and display that answer in B13 and it's not working. I type in field b13 "=quotient(b10,b12)" and my answer is 0.00%. but when I reverse the quitient and divide b12 via b10 it works but not vis versa. I tried setting the field as general and number but no dice. The number in B10 is always smaller than the number in b12 and I wonder if that's why it's not working. But I've adding additional decimal places but it makes no difference. Field B13 is set as percentage, and I've tried changing it to number or general or fraction and it doesn't make a difference. HELP!! I'm sure it's some thing really simple but I can count my hours of experience with excel on one finger, soo......
the numbers are
b10: 1507 (which is a sum of b3-b9)
b12: 12050
b13: should be .12 but I'm getting 0.00% everytime

well what's the word I need to use instead of quotient? division isn't a formula word I tried that first.
I just want to divide 1507 by 12050 meaning 1507/12050=12% I just want it to do that.
it seems the quotient key only displays integers and my answer is not an integer so I guess I should use something else but IDK what to use.

I always thought you had to spell it out if you wanted to do math like =sum(a1,a2) I did by know you could just do a1+a2. It makes sense now that I think of it but all my other formulas were done the other way so I didn't think this one would be different.
