I wanna know if this is possible.

1. Suppose I buy 1 phone with a $40 plan on amazon.com, from AT&T, Cingular or T-Mobile.

2. Now, suppose the wife gets 1 phone next week with a $40 plan on amazon.com, from AT&T, Cingular or T-Mobile (but same comapny as 1.)

3. Can I call after I got the two plans and join them into a family plan? For instance the $60 + $10 in Cingular.

Now remember, each phone will be free or cash back after rebate on amazon, and both have 1 year contract.

just make sure you activate the accounts in the same name, even better activate them somehow on the same account (might not be possible thru amazon). But as long as the accounts are in the same name they can be combined as long as the billing cycle does not interfere. Once they are combined switching into a family talk plan is a piece of cake.

No they wont do that for you, you will be in a one year agreement on that one particular plan, you can call in and change to other individual plans, but you cant combine into a Family Plan, until they are both out of contract.

And if T-Mobile Customer Service does do this for you, than Amazon will get screwed outta there compensation, hence you will not receive any rebates from them..

The whole purpose of the rebate is so they know you wont screw them like that, thats why they wont mail it if they find out your doing this, cant you get on the family plan through Amazon ahead of time?

And Only way they will do it is, if both the phones are on the same name and account, but like I said say Bye Bye to the rebate, Dealers make less money on Family Plans, Big Chunk to be exact

Problem is, you guys differ in your asnwers.

I know that joining into family plan is easy, at least I did that before with my sister, we both called 611 and everything was done over the phone (we had separate accounts too).

But Raheel has a point about the rebates.

Heck, what if I buy 4 phones under my name in amazon, and then call Cingular to join them into a family plan $80 + $10 + $10 + $10 ? What will be their answer?

if he did it within the first 15 days, they would do it, or just cancel service.


oh and if the rebates are from amazon then he might not get the rebates, but if the rebates are from cingular, he would get them.

 

Yup, if there from Cingular, all customers whether they are family plan or not they get them, unless otherwise noted.

If u want a good deal, T-Mobile is Running a Family Plan Special for the V300, Buy 1 Get 1 Free, Of course you would have to pay retail $199, but u get the secone one technically free.

You get a $200 Rebate, if you get on a Family Plan. but I know the V300 is cheaper online or even free, but remember that is for Individual Plans.
