Outlook and Apple Mail help

So I have a school account email that doesn't support mail clients so I am forced to forward it to an alternate account (Gmail) and setup Gmail in my Apple Mail and Outlook.

But whenever I send mail using the client, it sends mail using my Gmail address whereas I want it to use my school address. I've tried setting up aliases in Mail to let me choose from a Send From drop down menu and even when I choose that alias, the recipient still sees that it is coming from my Gmail and not my school address.

So if anyone can help me, that'd be great because I've spent about 3 hours now and still can't figure it out.

IMO, you should just bite the bullet and deal with the school mail system. Messing around with the from address is a good way to get messages you send blocked by spam filters, AntiX sytems, or just basic mail system configurations.

I see. I have probably 3 accounts right now on Apple Mail and Outlook so its all there when I need it. But they all support POP/IMAP so I have no trouble dealing with the Send From stuff. Guess I'll have to deal unless someone can come up with a solution. Thanks.
