Netflix
WD TV Live: http://www.wdc.com/en/products/products.aspx?id=330

It replaces the previous model, WD TV Live Plus, with a much improved user interface and built-in WIFI.
The new WD TV Live (just release last week) has 1080p and 5.1 support, a wide range of media file support from local USB & network drive and a list of many content providers, including Netflix.
I've read a lot of reviews which are almost 100% very positive, by far the best streaming device for 99% with more features than most.
I still have the older WD TV Live Plus which is functional solid, but has a clunking and buggy user interface.
I'm replacing it tonight. :-D
The best device I have found to date is:

I was responding to Moog's question above mine. I was trying to make a point that Netflix threads belong in tech forum due to the fact that Netflix runs on "technological devices"
Ohhhh nevermind....
I called Dish support a week ago about an issue with my 922 received and tech told me that I get blockbuster streaming and 1 DVD per month for free with my current package (was everything pack, changed to MoviePass).
That's how I found out.

And then I called Dish back and inquired about "HD free for life" and got my monthly bill reduced by $10/month. I originally had the HD package.
Man how is Dish so advanced versus DirecTV. Whole home DVR, free streaming add on, and they'll probably have streaming to a mobile over 3G (not that Nomad BS that DirecTV is coming out with).
Netflix takes up 32.7% of Internet bandwidth
(Mashable) -- Despite recent troubles, Netflix is a major force on the Internet, accounting for 32.7% of peak U.S. downstream traffic, according to a new report.
Sandvine Intelligent Broadband Networks' report analyzed 200 Internet service providers in 80 countries and found that real-time entertainment apps take up 60% of peak downstream traffic, up from 50% last year. Netflix has more than half of that share. Sandvine considers the hours between 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. to be peak times.
Like others, Sandvine has also noticed a shift away from PCs to access such content. The company found 55% of traffic volume in North America is consumed on game consoles, set-top boxes, smart TVs and mobile devices. Only 45% is being accessed by laptops or PCs. Video makes up 32.6% of peak downstream mobile traffic, of which YouTube is the largest contributor.

I haven't rented from Blockbuster for more than 3 years now. They sent me something in the mail today to try to lure me back from Netflix:

ABC Strikes New Deals with Netflix
http://www.aoltv.com/2011/10/31/abc-...etflix-amazon/
Netflix seems to be combating its bad press by striking up partnership deals with TV networks. Hot on the heels of its deals with The CW and AMC, Netflix and Disney-ABC Television Group have reached a new agreement, extending their existing licensing agreement.
As part of the new deal, episodes of new seasons from Disney-ABC shows will be available on Netflix 30 days after the last episode of each season airs.
'Alias,' 'Switched at Birth' and 'Kick Buttowski' will now be available on Netflix. The new deal extends to the previous seasons of 'Lost,' 'Brothers & Sisters,' 'Ugly' Betty,' 'Grey's Anatomy,' 'Private Practice' and 'Desperate Housewives' that are currently on the streaming service. 'Army Wives,' 'Melissa & Joey,' 'Make It or Break It' and various Disney Channel shows will also remain available.
"Disney and ABC have been and continue to be an innovative and supportive partner for Netflix. The diverse but always excellent programming from the different channels and networks are favorites of our members and we are thrilled to broaden the scope and extend the terms or our relationship," Ted Sarandos, chief content officer at Netflix, said in a statement.

Do people still buy TV seasons on DVD? Sales of those can't be very high netflix and hulu seem like the best way for a TV show outside of re-runs from making more money on these shows once they've aired.
Gee thanks Netflix. Their free bluray screwed up my queue.
So I had 3 out because of the free movie. Dropped off 2 on the 22nd, they received on the 23rd. Dropped off the last one the 27th, they received the 28th.
Didn't get any shipping notice from them after dropping off.
Then I get a shipping notice today of 1 movie (i have 2 at a time), and it's one that I already received...

And "127 hours"....

ok so i have to call the 1-800 number to file a complaint? no option on the "shipping problem" option to report that i received the movie again and they took way to long to ship me a new movie?
and no way to email them a complaint? :thumbsdow
should i just stuff the shipping and receiving email notifications in the envelope when i return them?
