My phone is broken. 2 more months to go. What can I do?
So yesterday, on my 10000th phone drop, the screen finally popped. It started to black out from the right bottom section and completely bled out to the entire screen in couple hours.
I can get a new phone in 2 months along with my wife.
What can I do at this point?
Can I just get a really cheap phone and use that? Do I have to take the phone to the Verizon to activate it?
Never had this problem before so don't really have an idea..
Thanks guys!

I want the Note 4! so have to wait til it comes out. It'll probably be out around November right?
Something like this?

2. Why!?
3. Just googled what GSM phone is... so I'm assuming when I find a cheapo phone, I have to go to Verizon to activate it? They might red light the swap?
Galaxy Note 2.

Go to your cell phone carrier and see what they can do. With all the competition for your $$ you might be surprised. I don't think it would be nuts for a carrier to help you out 2 months early. Are you 2 months early from a year or 2 months early from a 2 year contract?
The ear piece on my daughter's phone recently stopped working. Speaker and headphone jack still worked, but that's not convenient at all. Stopped by the local Sprint store and told them we were no longer under contract and my daughter has an upgrade, but not interested in getting tied to any of the new plans Sprint has out. Guys says not a problem, use the upgrade and I will keep you on the same plan you have today....... Problem solved.
And regardless of the phone you get to replace your broken one, it will need to be activated/tied to your account via the ESN, so a visit to your provider will be necessary anyway.

The carrier will probably work with you on an early upgrade as long as you don't do it frequently. My wife lost her phone about a year into our last contract, I called VZW and gave a sob story, they let us renew the contract early on that line, signed a new 2 year and got the promo price on a new phone. They also allowed me to upgrade a little before my renewal date the last 2 times, I'm due in a month, but I went to the store to look a few weeks before my end date and they said their computer showed eligible for upgrade already.

Will definitely visit our local VZW store tomorrow to see what they can do for me. My VZW account indicates that my upgrade date is December something.
How's Note 3 and S5? Are they pretty new?
I'm not that much of an early adopter. Seems like those two are now pretty damn cheap for an upgrade.

Turn out... that I do have an insurance. VZW rep recommended me to just pay the deductible on my insurance to get the new Note 2 and upgrade it in December.
Guess I can sell the Note 2 for like $100 to break-even later.
