MS office Excel "script" help

ok,s o I never use excel, but at work we have a list of pirces for things and all the prices are in the same column's, K, L, N, and O. Each column is from a different supplier, and I just wanted to make it so that it would change the color of the price to red if it was greater than a specified amount. How would I do that?

thanks in advance.

also another thing that could be helpful, but not sure if it's possible. We get this list of prices updated everyday, and I was wondering if there was a way to compare the previous day's prices to the current days prices and say change the color of the price to green if it changed from above the set price, to below it from teh previous day, or change it to orange if it went over that price from teh previous day. If a better description is required let me know.

thanks again.

awesome thanks.

somethign that would make it a lot easier though, is if there is a way to highlight the name of the item in red if either of the prices is above teh set value.

this is how it's layed out: colum J is the item name, column K and L are prices from two different suppliers, column M is a variant of the item, and columns N and O are the prices of the variants from different cuppliers. I would like the name of the item or the name of hte variant to be highlighted red if either of the suppliers prices are above the set value. Any way to do that? I looked through the conditional formating, but couldnt determine a way.

that one for the price change is great, but that would require me to input that condition for every cell. Isn't there a way to get the value of a cell relative to the current cell. Like say B1 was yesterdays price and K1 is today's price, B2 was yesterday's, K2 is today's. can it be like if cell value is > Bx (where x is the row number of the current cell)?

don't think i didn't catch that edit you made of your first post. adding that yesterday price thing in there like nobody was gonna notice.

but no, you can't conditional format on some other cell.

lol, that's cool. Thanks with that. I guess I will just hold ctrl down and click each name manually .

but I'm sure there is a way to check a cell relative to the current cell right?

werd. you are right. it is late and i am tired.

but yeah highlight the column you want to format, then go to conditional formatting and put in =A1 instead, leave out the $ signs.
