so my sis needs a new phone and she really like my V690, so i agree taht i give her my phone as soon as i get a new phone. So i was wondering who here has the V80 and whether u like it or not.

v80 is tri-band and will work in the US if you get one unlocked.

But since they don't sell it here, you're probably not going to find one at retail or anyone who has one. You'd be one of the few people in the US.
And that phone is rather expensive, I think it's north of 500.

Yes the v80 is not quad-band. But 850 is not a MUST in the US on GSM. It "helps" but as long as you have 1900, you can still get by. I am not 100% sure of this, I haven't done the full research but I think 850 is meant to be an overlay for 1900 (not in addition to). So just like in Europe where 1800 is an overlay for 900, the "overlay" coverage area is less than or equal to the original...you should never find an 850/1800 where there is no 1900/900, respectively.
