Moto RAZR V3 vs. Samsung SPH-A900

Sprint has come out with their "Blade" A900 to compete with Moto's RAZR.

Any users of both phones that can compare them?

My brother just got this phone the other day, so i've had a chance to play with it a little. My first impression was wow! It looks cool. It has a 1.3 megapixel camera and the quality of the pictures look great. Oh and the camera swivels which is pretty neat. Unlike the Razr which is both plastic and metal the A900 is entirely made of metal. This is probably why the A900 is a little heavier than my Razr.

The phone is very similar in shape/size with the Razr. With the flip open, the A900 stands taller. With the flip is closed, both phones are the same height. The width of both phones is about the same.

Overall I really liked the phone. You can't really compare the two feature wise because the Razr is old now. The only thing that you can really compare is the form/size. If you want to know anything else just let me know. I wish I would have taken some pictures comparing the two. Maybe next time I see my bro I'll take a couple.

I love my Razr! I haven't had any major problems since I bought it. My biggest complaint would be with the memory though. There's not enough but it shouldn't be a problem with the new one (V3i) that's coming out. If your a little tech savy and good at following directions, then modding it shouldn't be a problem. I've upgraded the software a bunch of times, added new skins, ringtones, wallpapers, screensavers, changed a couple of SEEMS etc. The fact that it's so easy to mod is probably one of the things I like most about this phone, well besides the size/shape that is. Oh and just so you know I have the Cingular (GSM) version of the Razr not the Verizon one.

Thanks for the info. I am looking at picking one up (I live up in Canada so we dont have the same carriers as the US) because they have deals on right now to get them. The most impt thing is that it gets good reception etc. Thanks for the help.

Samsung A900 can download music and mp3 to your phone over the air and play them thru the speakerphone or the stereo headset, it has a larger colour display with crisp high resolution, the Bluetooth functionality works quite well, and you can connect the A900 to your laptop as use it as a high-speed modem with the included usb cable. Did I mention the A900 you can watch Sprint TV or use the built-in player to watch movie clips or music videos...I think the A900 has the "edge" over the Razr.

For 2006, "thin is in."

Word over on Hofo is that battery life is horrendous and that there are bluetooth connectivity issues.

For those who care, I went with the Samsung "Blade" A900 and so far I am extremly happy with it. Easy hookup to the computer to upload photos and MP3s. Only downside that I have found is that I cant assign MP3s as ringers. Size, weight and feel are excellent. More features than the RAZR and big bright screen. If you are on the Sprint network, great phone

Battery life is awful. I get less than an hour talk time. I had a full charge yesterday morning, haven't used it since then, and now I'm at 1 bar. I'm not sure how long this 1 bar will last, but 3 bars to 1 in 24 hours with no use is pretty bad.

Other than that, its a good phone. My bluetooth works fine, but I've only paired it with a headset.

Oh and if you are rough with phones I'd say stay away. I saw a guy at the airport with one and all of the corners and edges were worn down to silver. Looked like ass.

Definitely better than the razr though.
