Is this Mac worth the price ?
For anyone curious to see how a late 2006 imac boots with Lion, I made a quick video. It takes about 35-40 seconds. Not sure how good/bad that is for a mac??

By the way I am still in love with this thing. I almost had sex with the Magic Mouse last night but held myself back.
Seriously though, i'm actually kicking myself for waiting so long to use a mac.
My main thing is learning how to support a mac so I've already re-formatted and clean installed Lion OS twice, learning all the file extensions, etc... Great learning experience.
I'm actually getting to like the launchpad. At first I didn't like it but it's growing on me.

Lion kinda bridges the gap into having your desktop/laptop perform more like an iPad in several ways...but to make the most of that you really need the magic trackpad (which is totally worth it)
Although installing this http://magicprefs.com/ has made the magic mouse more functional allowing gestures like the trackpad, but its just not as good.
You get the benefit of bug testing Lion and hoping that the next update resolves your issues. So far 10.7.1 looks like it fixed my YouTube issue. I haven't played around with my bluetooth and Skype yet.

There a tons of little tweaks, performance jumps, GUI changes. For $30 why would you not?
Although it is Intel only like SL, Lion completely loses Rosetta support. So if you have any old apps that you use...watch out.
