Mac Mini VESA mount?
So I run an all mac network here at work. And we run a lot of custom software. So because of that through the years our client systems have diversified a lot. I have users on old eMacs running 10.4, I've got G4s and G5s running 10.5, I've got iMacs running 10.4-10.6.
So we are to the point we want to upgrade about 8 of the remaining eMacs to something newer. But want to save as much as we can doing it. Base iMacs are $1200. Base minis are $600. My idea was to get a bunch of mini's and then just buy the monitors we want. Saving us around $450 a client.
What would really solidify the deal is if I can find a mount that would enable us to slap the mini's onto the back of the monitors.
Anyone done this? Links? Suggestions?

I customized a Mac Mini and an iMac and the iMac ended up being cheaper.
Depending if you want to upgrade internals, you may consider looking into iMacs instead.
If you want to make them of equal power the iMac's end up being cheaper, again. lol
Then you have to consider the screen. The Cinema Display is 27", so if you're making the iMac equal, you need to select the 27" iMac. See what I'm saying?

Base units on both the iMac and the Mac Mini far exceeds what we need. So a mini + new mouse and keyboard + 23" LED LCD is about ~$350-400 cheaper then the base iMac.

Ahh, well if they both exceed your needs then by all means go for the Mini.
