Laptop problem???
I have a little problem, I think, with my Dell Inspiron 8100 laptop. Whenever I am watching a DVD in my DVD/CD-RW drive, the movie (old and new) would stutter or freeze for like a split second. This will happen on and off throughout the whole movie. And sometimes the door won't open to the drive. Does this happen to you guys or is it just my laptop??? I need to know ASAP so I can contact the dell help desk if need be.
TIA!
TIA!

Stuttering and freezing for an instant sounds like a CPU load issue. Isn't the decoder software based maybe with some assist from the video chip? Try using task manager to kill off whatever you can before viewing the movie and see.

Coming to a city near you
I have a dell 8100 with dvd/cdr drive and the only time I've had video problems is with an old dvd rental "rounders" it was scratched up pretty bad it would skip pretty bad. I switched programs from windvd to media player (or vise visa) and it was a little bit better but not much.
But when I watch a movie or play a game at work and I have to hide it in a hurry and close the lid, after the coast is clear I will open the screen back up and the picture is all facked up and I have to quit the program and start again.

You might also update your BIOS if you haven't done it lately. I was on A04 and then have released A19! It does contain some video fixes. I have also experienced the drive not ejecting when using the button, on occasion, but can usually get it out using the Folder/Properties/EJECT option.

Whenever I watch any movie, I have everything else turned off.
This happens with old and new DVDs. And I use the DVD player/driver that was provided.
Thanks everybody.
