Laptop + GPS

Ok, so who's got/using a Laptop w/GPS and Mapping software? What combo do you have and how do you like it?

I'm trying to decide between Microsoft Streets and Trip w/GPS and Delorme Street Atlas w/Earthmate GPS, anybody using either? ? ? ? ?

Both are good products.

I use Route 66 on my Powerbook. Not as good as those two IMO, but it's still real nice.

Neither. MS Streets & Trips just provides a little icon of where you are.

Delorme is proprietary and you cannot use other software with the GPC receiver.

I used the Deluo USB GPS thing (w/ magnet) and their Routis 2004 NAV software. It calls out turns, etc. and is pretty easy to use.

As a consequence, the Deluo GPS antenna is generic enough that it works with nearly all GPS software, including Streets & Trips.

MS Streets provides routing but does not have any voice prompting.

Delorme Street atlas has voice prompting . . . and responds to some voice commands. . . GPS with right cable will work w/my Treo 600. . .

From the website the Deluo comes with Rand McNally's Streetfinder, which I don't think has voice, but I'm not sure. . . did you pick this up locally or order it?

Well, Deluo is no longer carrying Routis. The same software, however, can be had from iNav as iGuidance 2.0. They have a kit there (USB GPS and Software) there that is similar to mine.

Sorry.

Consequently, it also works with PocketPC.
