Just Bought A v600
Just Bought A v600
Upgraded the firmware and did a few seem editing. The phone is really fast thru the menus and the signal is worlds better than my nokia. Good deal on the plan too. If anyone is considering this phone, this is my +1 vote.
Ya if you upgrade the firmware, its hella better, but if you stick with the original Firmware, it has way too many bugs, and freezes, and I wouldnt say its got better reception than a Nokia, Nokias are just hard to beat when it comes to reception, but maybe your firmware upgrade really did some magic.

Upgrade the firmware using the Moto Cable, the flash file, and the MotoFlash program.
Edddie does a lot of phone "reengineering," he knows his stuff, he did my phone flash and countless other phones before that.

It seems ATT and Cingular Stopped production of the V600. Why you ask?
Because it seems the phone is not properly picking up signal, it keeps goin to 1900 band or something theres a issue between the two bands, and actually you can use Cingulars Bands on the phone, even if your on ATT Service, if you manually go to it, and lot of people have been manually doing that and using the 850 Band, as far as I understand, and ATT has issued some rule, if 50% or more of the service is not used on there networks, they can terminate your service, so its pretty wierd whats goin on

theres a deeper story than that, companies dont Discontinue phones if only 1% have problems, its cheaper to replace the defective ones.
But I heard about people picking up each other companies signal, that is true

The phone wasn't discontinued for that. In fact it's not discontinued from T-Mobile. It's predecessor the V620 and a similar phone the V551 is coming out. Also the RAZR V3 is coming out which is almost exactly like the V600.
Eddie.
Eddie.
V600 isn't discontinued by T-Mobile. There is also a V620 coming out which adds video recording to the V600. RAZR V3, and V551 are also on the way out. Of course some of these phones you can already find for outrageous prices.
