So okay, I had some hidden files I would rather my wife not have seen

but even though they were hidden in windows iTunes picked them up and showed them in its movie files. How the heck did that happen? Any idea how to get itunes to not show hidden files when it pulls its lists of files?

Seriously, can a man not keep some pron on his computer in this day and age?

If this is a PC, can you change the file extension to something like SomeFile.MyHidden Pornography? Some programs work off of file extensions and some work off the actual content. ITune may not index files with unknown extensions, but may play any playable file dragged into it after checking the actual file header.

 

Just move the files somewhere else that iTunes isn't indexing. I've been able to keep my porn stash a secret all these years so can you. Took me a minute to figure out how not to let win 7 add my porn to my "libraries" though.

How do I tell what folders iTunes is accessing and change it? I was looking around trying to figure out how it indexes its stuff but can't find that option. I see how to add a file or folder easily but nowhere to remove file or folder (file can be removed by deleting it from itunes).

Wife just doesn't like it, she every once in awhile thinks she will and will tell me to show her some then she gets all grossed out. What a wuss. Will have to show her some softcore or something and see how that goes over.

 

 

Why don't you just delete the files from your list? I'm not an iTunes expert, but..

1) Delete all files from your list
2) Move your special stuff to another folder containing only special stuff
3) Add your folders that contain only the music/videos you want shown

 

Yeah, seems like the easiest solution. i was more interested in figuring out how they actually showed up there when I didn't add that folder in the first place. iTunes just added it on its own.

Maybe it adds it to the collection automatically when it gets played? Which may mean someone's been watching your porn.

dont watch porn in itunes. it copies your files over.

watch it in VLC or in windows media. or burn it to a dvd and watch it in the living room

 

I have my stash under my "Contacts" folder never seen any of them in iTunes once

on VLC Media player. also remember to clear your "Recent Items" list

 

This is why my wife has her own laptop.. never needs to use my computer
