iPads - Who has one?
iPads - Who has one?
Just curious...Which iPad version/model do you have? Do you think it was worth the purchase? What do you mainly use it for? Where/when are you using it?
I've wanted an iPad ever since they came out, and every time I'm about to make the purchase, I talk myself out of it. I mainly see it come in handy for travelling on planes and staying at hotels, for having a much more portable internet source/entertainment source then lugging a laptop through security, etc.
They finally released an Apple iPad Mini Retina Refurb at the Apple store, and I was considering buying one. The refurbs from Apple are just as good as new.
Is there a big difference from the Mini and the Mini Retina?
Thanks for any insight!

I've got a mini R and the big one that came out before the Air. Mainly use them when sitting in-front of the TV. So much more portable than a laptop. No boot up times, battery lasts quite awhile.
There is a pretty big difference between the mini and the mini R. If you are going to spend the money, get the R. I had the normal one, then returned it for the R because it was just enough difference to bug the crap out of me.

In purchase order; ipad2, iPad mini, Nexus 7/1 (used).
All are used for surfing, streaming video and music, research, reading. Nexus was purchased to compare android to iOS, they are fairly similar IMHO.
Might consider a used N7 for <$100 or new for around $200. This will give a strong personal indication of if a tablet is for you.

Both iPads i was given or won, I wouldn't pay the overpriced fee that apple charges when the nexus 7 is as good or better in most cases.

I have the iPad 2 and the iPad mini.
I like the mini a lot more because I feel it is easier to handle and feels more comfortable when I'm typing on it. I have a test iPad Air at work that we use for simulations and it isn't that big of a deal IMO. The Air is just as good as the previous generations.
