Wassup my fellow peeps, how are you?

A while ago I broke my phone and I had to buy a phone for retail so I got the Moto V220, and what a mistake that was. The phone is a joke, I had the Nokia 3125, and I should've just got another one of those for less money.

The speaker phone is not loud enough, the camera is a joke. And now I'm having a problem where the phone freezes and locks up when I'm going through the phonebook. I have some $$ to spend so I dont mind paying a decent amount for the phone just want to know the best way to go about doing it.

I have Cingular and when I log into my account it says:

Activation Date: 02/10/01
Contract Length: 2 Years
Will be eligible for upgrade: 01/29/07

So I guess I am not eligible for an upgrade, if I get a phone somewhere can I just switch the sim card with my sim card? Or do I need to bring it to cingular?

 

Get either a Cingular branded or unlocked version if the RAZR. You should be able to find some on Craigslist or ebay.

And yes, you can just take the sim card out and place it in the new phone.

 

Is the sim card any different on a V220 then a RAZR? I figured the RAZR would have a totally different one?

 

Sim cards are the same all around the world so you don't need to worry about that.

 

Just eBay it. You can get it unlocked (pop in any carriers sim chip) and more accesories than buying a Cingular branded phone. The price if the RAZR is coming down since the RAZR 2 will be released in March-April.

 

So basically your contract expired in 03? If that's the case then I don't see why you can't upgrade. Just go in to a store and ask. If Cingular doesnt give you upgrades then thats weak.
