My i-860 lasted almost 2 years, but a rough boat ride on Saturday broke the antenna off of the housing....so I had to hold it to talk. I was on the phone in the car and I forgot that little fact and the antenna and the broken piece of the housing went out the window So I figured I'd upgrade. The guy showed me the new 580. I gotta say, its a little bigger then the 860, but all around better. Its got that rubber coating over the whole phone....so it won't scratch to hell and is durable as hell! It has blue tooth (which is a big feat for Nextel), a MP3 player and a 1.3 mega pixel camera. If you have Nextel, you know you'll never get a phone that fits in your pocket nice, but this phone is better then my i-90, i730, i-830 and my i-860.

I still have my i830 from 2 years ago because I refuse to get a bigger phone. My contract is up in 2 weeks, so bye-bye Nextel. Their coverage sucks in my area. I usually never get more than 2-3 bars.

 

If the 830 had a camera, it would be perfect!

 

I'm so over Nextel....Wanna buy my i870 when I'm done with them?

 

My i836 is pretty damn small and can fit in your pocket and not be that intrusive.

And it's still very durable even for it's small size. I've dropped the sucker plenty of times, and it's still working really well.

 

Do you guys know when Nextel is coming out with some new phones? My i870 has taken a pretty bad beating since I've had it. So i wanna upgrade, but dont like any of their current phones, besides the 930 and that one is been out for a while already....dont want to upgrade and a month later BOOM new phones??

 

I heard they are coming out with a i880, but its ugly. The guy at the Nextel store told me the next thing that is gonna happen is that they are gonna come out with a phone that uses the Nextel PTT and the Sprint CDMA cell service.

 

yea well they have been sayin that, THAT service is gonna be available for the past 2 years....Could just be another 2 years 'til that happens!!
