At least Verizon issued a date for their HTC phone. I'm impatiently awaiting a due date for Sprint's version, HTC Evo.
They look similar.

This phone is amazing. I have had windows mobile smart phones for my last 3 phones cause I wanted a physical keyboard. I just think the HTC build quality is superb compared to some other phones. They also have all been HTC phones with their additional interface over it. Finally decided to give a full touch screen phone a try and no regrets at all. Still getting used to typing however the rest of the phone is just amazing.

I hate to be the bad guy, but my friend loaded his new incredible up with some apps and side by side it really isn't that much faster than 2.1 leaked eris (my phone) and it really doesn't offer much more than the eris does besides the camera and larger screen. It surely is a better phone, but if you currently are going from an eris or droid to incredible save your money IMO

played with my friend's Incredible last night. Definitely a nice phone, if I was with Verizon and looking for a new phone, it's what I'd go with. The screen is clearer than my 3GS and at the same time the processing speed was notably faster too. The speakerphone is 10x better than the iPhone's POS speakerphone. the optical eye thing or whatever is pretty cool too. anyone know if you can jailbreak the Android phones though? Camera is almost definitely better though, considering it has flash and everything, but I didn't try it.
Nothing notable enough to make me jump ship though. I think the 3GS and Incredible basically represent what the forefront is for "affordable" smartphones
and yeah, after using touchscreens, I don't think I'd go back. I was fast even without a qwerty keyboard but with a touchscreen, I make people say "whoa"

Yea, you can "root" it, but why would you need to, as it can do just about everything without it and the few things that you might want to do it for there is an app that can do it for you without rooting your phone.

So all and all the abundance of apps compared to that for windows mobile and the amazing speed and responsiveness of the phone far out weight any minor reduction in typing speed that I may experience by the loss of a physical keyboard.

So far after about 5 days of use the keyboard actually is really good I would say. After turning off predictive text on the QWERTY keyboard it was working much better. I never used predictive with my Touch Pro 2 and thus it was always giving me the wrong words. The biggest difference is getting my self used to just touching the screen vs trying to push a button that is not there. After typing long messages my fingers hurt cause I am pushing on something hard that doesn't give. I sure over time I will get used to this just take a while since my last 3 phones over about 4 years were HTC sliders. The on screen keyboard is also slightly larger it seems than the on screen keyboard on the Touch Pro 2.
(Skip if you don't care about my reason for leaving Windows Mobile)
Only hesitation I have about the phone really is not about the phone itself but rather I only got my Touch Pro 2 five months ago and it really is not a bad phone. It had began to slow down from the speed it had when I first got it however I normally wipe my Windows Mobile phones every three to four months and had not done so yet so it was time. The phone wasn't out dated and was still actually a great phone. Just was getting sick of the lack of application support available for the OS which is completely Microsoft's Failure in my opinion due to the marketing of Windows Mobile. HTC had saved the Windows OS with Sense as much as it could but it can't fix the lack of apps.

For those who care about the camera...apparently it's nothing earth shattering.

But they still like the phone.
I'll probably just get the Bold (Tour 2 really) 9650 when it comes out.

My stock Touch Pro 2 battery already gives me about 14-16 hours compared to the 8-10 I was getting with the stock battery.

The Incredible seem just be a white balance issue.
