Help with Burning DVD (i.e. Casino Royale)

Hey guys, need some help here. This is an old issue I'm sure for many of you and not sure if it was covered here already, but I'm trying to burn Casino Royale (Sony/Columbia Pictures) and having a very difficult time (getting errors such as "DVD Invalid Navigation Structure"). After reading a bunch of older forums, apparently Sony/Columbia dvd's are prone to this issue. Right now I use DVD Shrink 3.2 and have had no issues until now. Some of the forums suggested RipIt4Me and DVD43, but I'm still having trouble. I'm not very tech savy when it comes to this stuff, so for RipIt4Me, I don't exactly know what to do and how I can use it in unison with Shrink. Can someone help guide me through this process or already has decrypted files you can share on an ftp? I greatly appreciate any help.

:fingerscrossed:

Dude, just spend the $5 at Wal-Mart.
The quality will be better than if you burn it.

^^^ You'd need to convert avi to MPEG, which is a standard DVD format... Avi when converted will lose quality, is like trying to convert mp3 into wav.. pointless...yes..

Best free program to use is http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html

Your dvd player does not play Divx?

And so you know, it is very much illegal of what you are trying to do. Why not use HBO Go and stream the content at will? (it's free with HBO subscription)

Really? Hmm.. I heard Optimum does the same.. Why the hell would they block it??? I guess your option is to DVR it.

I have FIOS... and it's driving me nuts, I have great connection, but the channels either freeze or scramble sometimes...usually when I want to watch something important to me..like True Blood... but yesterday's episode aired fine

(FIOS is cheaper than cable..so this is why it does not make sense to me of why they would block HBO Go)

you can convert AVI or MPG2 (dvd video format) into MPG4 file format for about 4x reduction in space (going from MPG2 to 4) while maintaing the same quality overall. I find that 1.5mbps works for portable devices and 2mbps works well for computers when using MPG4 and maintaining quality. A lot of mp4 players and phones will struggle with content at 2mbps or higher in my experience..

It's not about being blocked, it's about verifying your subscription. I had to allow it access to my DTV account.

Yes, he wants to burn to DVD.. So he needs mpeg2 (vob).

In his case I'd just spend 40 bux and a get divx ready dvd player and forget about converting altogether.
