Has Anybody Tried Lubuntu?
It's a light version of Ubuntu (http://lubuntu.net/). I installed it on my wife's old Dell Inspiron B130 (Pentium M 1.8GHz, 60GB PATA HDD, 1 GB RAM). It boots very quickly and is generally very responsive. So far me likely.
