I'll post a link to my review once I get it all setup. Of course a lot of it is opinion. P910, good for internet, best with PDA functions, all around good phone. If you still have your eyes on the P910 in 2 months, I'll sell you mine.... the next one is around the corner and down the block.

ok - that being said (that the T68 was junk) - it is wrong of me to deduce that Sony Ericsson in general is bad. Ok that is fine - I think I was just venting my extreme frustrations about that damn POS - but why does a company make such a crappy phone... seriously - it's garbage.

Actually, I had my eye on the p910 and the one previous to that for a LONG time... just never got one because its not very readily available... I've never even seen one but I would love to. So it's not like I'm anti-Sony-E.

^ Ah, if you need something that is Palm OS based, then you would need the Treo 650, not the P910.

^ I used to be anti a lot of things. I take everything with little by little now. If you took that T68 or T610 to Europe though, your reception would be perfect everywhere. Keep in mind those phones were made for Europe mainly, hence having 900 and 1800 bands. There are tons of people in chicagoland that have P900/P910's...next time you go out, look harder.

well tooty-hooty, look at you...... :goyou:

How about I take the T68 to my local dumpster and drop it off there? Would that work? Seriously though, thanks for that info, I had no idea about that. I guess it's nice, to hear, that it works SOMEWHERE...

I look very hard at all the phones everyone is using LOL... never seen a P910...

ok thanks

Man, if you're gonna toss that T68, toss it this way. I could always use a phone.

You're not looking hard enough cause the majority of my friends in Chicago have P900 and P910's. They're gadget freaks like me

ps. the battery life on the Treo 650 is nothing short of incredible... I've heard its really good on the P910 too.

Anyone else have trouble with the volume control on the treo? It is up all the way but it is still difficult to here. Should I return it?

don't know about the older ones but the 650 is fine, in fact I have my volume set to 4 bars (out of 7) - any higher than that and its too loud. Even at 4/7, I can hear the caller without even putting it to my ear. I wonder if it depends on the service too? I would try another unit if you really like it...

^^Bent, on my regular phone the volume is usually at 2 or 3 and that's too loud when I'm just cruisin in the CLS...and I have sprint here in H-town, like you...really clear w/ occ dead spots...but overall great reception...I would go to the sprint store and check out one of the ones the have there for comparison...maybe that would help...if that doesn't work.....check for earwax build up......J/k...

I'm pretty certain it's coming out... for Verizon and Cingular.. it's just a question of WHEN... in any case I couldn't keep waiting for Cingular, I'm cancelling my Cingular and keeping Sprint. Funny how back in the day, I didn't feel this "need" for a mobile phone.... eh.

btw I downloaded some cool apps the other day... check em out at your own risk.... I haven't had any problems with em. But certain apps can cause your Palm to crash, etc.

F1 2005 season guide (hi-res)
keep track of teams, drivers, view track maps, statistics, etc.

Minibar - 450 drink recipes

James Bond movie guide

CD Collector - keep track of CD's and video games and whatever else

DVD Log - keep track of your DVD's

car database program - add your cars, statistics

tons more free stuff here:
http://www.freewarepalm.com/

more here, not all free though:
http://palmgear.com

BUT WAIT - THERE's MORE!!!!! this phone also has a great camera!! check these pictures out... really a bit shocking. some of them, you won't believe it's a VGA phone camera. But if you look at the pics that have people in them, you can see the lower quality of the details... nonetheless, impressive for a VGA camera phone... I was like

using 320 mode instead of 640 results in sharper pics.

http://www.phonecamphotographer.com/moma.htm

I'm gonna take some of my own and see if I can get this type of clarity with 320. Need to practice holding the camera still. The guy who took the above pics said he took 5-6 shots per scene and picked the best one.

oh yeah - you need this adapter to listen to stereo mp3's on your 600/650 - it's 5 bucks. you need an adapter to listen to mono too... it's a mini-jack, you can't plug normal 1/8th" headphones into it.

http://store.treocentral.com/content.../12-45--13.htm

you can also play them through the speaker. honestly the highs ain't too bad!!!

Maybe I should take mine in for service. Even the wireless headset the volume sucks. I did leard a trick though, if I am on the phone and hit the mic button in the lower left then hit it again my headset magically get louder. I guess I need to check the ear wax thing out too.

ok so, just for fun, I ordered the $6 stereo headphone adapter that allows you to connect headphones to the Treo so you can listen to mp3's via Realplayer. I'm just like whatever, this is frickin cheap. I got the adapter today. Folks this PHONE sounds as good as the best mp3 players out there... totally shocked me. As an ultimate test I hooked it up via aux in on my car stereo (alpine hu, jl 10w7, mb quarts) .... it did not sound much different than playing a cd through the hu. a slight bit tinnier... but all the bass was there (demo'ed yin yang - salt shaker) - just amazing folks. and this phone has NO EQ settings whatsoever... anyway I am just in awe. get your adapter at http://treocentral.com and enjoy....

^^ I am ordering mine right now. I too will be running it through the aux input on my alpine deck. What is the quality of the movies if you rip and compress them with that previously mentioned software? Could I watch movies in my car?

How bout GPS? anyone run that on a treo yet?

anything to make up for my non-navi cl. lol.

Is it truely stereo? or just like left channel split into both ears?

If you checkout that mediaplayer app I talked about a bit back it has EQ and is a lot better to use than the realplayer. Not to mention it plays divx/mpeg raw and full screen. Just use that pocketdivx app I mentioned to adapt the movie to the palm screen resolution and drop the movie onto a SD card. night and day better than dropping a movie onto that included crappy palm app that converts it to some funnky format and kills the audio. And wont play full screen in the pics/movie app.

Also, if you frequent the AMC30 theaters.

Add this URL into your palm browser. No ads, no BS gfx, just gets you to your movie information quickly when your on the go.

oh yes... beautiful, true stereo...

haven't had a chance to check that other player (I thought it only played movies). I will check it now... would be crazy to have an EQ on this phone.

you definitely have probs... with the mp3 player, I have it about 10% its full volume, and that is plenty.... for calls, I have it at about 22% of total volume.... it's a LOUD device.

unfortunately no it doesn't - if you notice on the part of the cable that connects to the phone, there is a jack for the AC... that's where you connect the power to if you need to charge while sync'ing with USB.
