Angry DVD Players can't play burned CD's

Man, I am pissed as hell. I found out today that the ONLY DVD players out there that will play BURNED media (CD-r's) Are the Pioneer and the Cinima Series Toshiba. WTF is the point of Video CD format if you can't even use your own burned cd's??? I am thinking that the manufactures are deliberatly preventing the dvd players from reading burned media to support Copyright Laws.

WFT?????? this is pissing me off because I wanted to start a library of Video CD's with my pics and Mpeg clips on it for easy view on a standard DVD player. This is not possible. I HATE corporate america.
