Dumb question about Cingular billing Data & Voice

Sorry about this question, but things are so confusing in regards to the way Cingular describes there phone data & voice stuff.

My question is that I have a Blackberry from Cingular w/ the unlimited BB data & a 900 minute family talk plan. How is the data time calculated in regards to the voice time? Are they from 2 totally different buckets (ie. when I make a voice call on my phone I get charged the voice minutes which is taken away from the voice minutes I have on my account, while when I surf the web using the phone browser it comes out of the data bucket).

So theoretically I could stay on the web (say using the Gmail browser app on the phone) forever since I have unlimited data, or does using the data portion of the phone (ie. browsing the web) take away the minutes I have allocated to voice (ie. it will subtract a minute from the voice portion for every minute I am on the web) but just won't charge me any additional $$ for using data?

Just curious since I am utterly confused about this.

Thanks!

well if you have unlimted data, i don't see why it would use voice minutes. Also if you didn't have unlimited minutes, they would charge like 5cents per kb or something like that.

Data is data only, so yes theoretically you could keep it online 24/7 and it won't use your minutes. However, if you start using massive amounts of data (using phone as bluetooth modem for your PC), they can make you pay more. I think its in the contract somewhere.
