^^ And to be clear, it is Hulu, not Hulu + Live TV.

Yep in the past was a week or 10 days, I can't remember. That's pretty shitty that it's only 2 days now.

Well I checked back today and now they have a 14 day trial . So I signed up.

I saw on reddit an a few other places that these extended trials will pop up for a short time, so yay me. I think a 2 day trial is ridiculous, the basic trial time should be 7 days.

YTTV subscribers - keep an eye on your email. Google is giving out free Chromecasts (the new one with remote).

So I just found out we got a free year of Apple TV with our iPad purchase.

For those that use Apple TV, what exactly does it have? From what I can tell, it is basically TV shows and movies made for Apple. Everything else costs $. No sports or local or other channels like Hulu or YoutubeTV?

^I got that offer when I bought my daughter Air Pods. Do I really need an Apple product to watch the Morning Show?

I got the free year about a year ago. No one in my family watched anything on Apple TV. I will be canceling.

We got a year free and have really liked several of the Apple ordered shows on there. The Morning Show, Ted Lasso, and For All Mankind were great. Waiting for season 2 of all of them. Several others we have liked but I don't remember the names. We will probably pay 2-3 months a year and binge watch the shows we like just like other services.

Roku warned Monday that that Google's live-TV streaming service YouTube TV may be removed from its popular devices, saying in an email to customers that Google is making unfair, anti-competitive demands that would "manipulate your search results, impact the usage of your data and ultimately cost you more." YouTube's main app on Roku is unaffected. Roku's standoff with Google concerns only the app for YouTube TV, a subscription service that streams live television channels, typically used as an alternative to cable or satellite for cord cutters.

Google's YouTube called Roku's claims baseless, saying it is negotiating in good faith to reach an agreement so that YouTube TV can continue streaming on Roku devices.

"Unfortunately, Roku often engages in these types of tactics in their negotiations. We're disappointed that they chose to make baseless claims while we continue," YouTube said in a statement. "All of our work with them has been focused on ensuring a high quality and consistent experience for our viewers. We have made no requests to access user data or interfere with search results. We hope we can resolve this for the sake of our mutual users."

Google is facing attacks and investigations into whether it abuses monopoly power on several fronts. Last week, Google was grilled by senators in an antitrust subcommittee about accusations it uses the marketplace heft of its Google Play app store to retaliate against rivals and entrench its own power.
If this really does happen, I'll be dropping YouTube TV since I have a Roku TV and the other TVs have a Roku device. Plus, I'll either switch to ATT Now so I can finally get the Fox Sports Directional channels so I can watch local sports or get FuboTV so I can get tons of soccer coverage. Hell, I will probably switch to one of those anyways.

Got this email from YTTV this morning:
Our goal with YouTube TV is to offer you the content you love, delivered in the way you want — including on all of your favorite devices. To make this happen, we enter into agreements with partners in order to enable access to YouTube TV via different devices.

Unfortunately, despite our best efforts, we have been unable to reach an agreement with Roku. We continue to offer Roku the opportunity to renew the YouTube TV deal under the existing, reasonable terms.

If you are not currently using Roku, you should not have any issues. For our Roku users, as we send this, you still have access to YouTube TV on Roku devices; however, Roku may choose to remove the YouTube TV app from their devices. We encourage Roku to continue providing the YouTube TV app for our mutual users.

Should Roku decide to remove the YouTube TV app from their platform, you can still cast to your Roku device from your mobile device, tablet, or computer by following these simple steps. You can also continue to access the app using all of the devices listed here.

In light of Roku’s current stance, we encourage you to reach out to their customer support team to request they keep YouTube TV on Roku devices here or tweet @roku.

We are committed to ensuring our members continue to have access to YouTube TV and will continue advocating on behalf of our members. For further updates on this issue and our efforts to resolve it, please visit this website.

Sincerely,
The YouTube TV team
guess bye bye @imj0257
