Cracked screen sensation 4g :(

Hey guys, I dropped the phone, (yeah yeah I know) and of course it lands face down and the screen is spider webbed. I have insurance through Asurion, and its 140 for a replacement (better than 499.99). But I also found replacement screens for 49.99 that come w/ the tool to do it. Have any of you guys replaced your screen before? How intricate is it? Anyway the phone still works, just all spiderwebbed.

Same thing happened to my brother's Nexus one. I would advise against fixing it yourself, unless you REALLY know what you're doing. To make a long story short, he was never able to put the phone back together. Too many parts to keep track of.

If you have insurance, I would use it. Most phones nowadays require you to remove everything to get to the screen and if you don't do it right, could lead to more problems than what you began with. With that said, I take all of my stuff apart because I don't really care much about warranty. lol.
